Re: FUNimation DBZ TV Blu-ray Official On-Going Thread
Has anyone notice the random Dragon Ball Z videos FUNimation has been uploading on YouTube lately?

Re: Do you prefer to watch Dragon Ball on Blu-ray or DVD?
I don't like Kai, it looks soft and hazy. I much prefer the Dragon Box over Kai in terms of picture quality to be honest.

Re: Do you prefer to watch Dragon Ball on Blu-ray or DVD?
Some people here have the wrong idea about Blu-ray. Blu-ray is not about making things look new, it's about bringing a more faithful presentation to the film. That's exactly what the Level sets did. Just because you grew up watching Dragon Ball in SD doesn't mean that's how it suppose to look. Also ...

Re: FUNimation DBZ TV Blu-ray Official On-Going Thread
I wonder if Toei is indeed planning on remastering the series on Blu-ray themselves? Not sure if they'll do a perfect job on it though, but it's better than nothing.

It's a Japanese show, so I wouldn't be surprised if she was underage.

Re: FUNimation DBZ TV Blu-ray Official On-Going Thread
I think FUNimation should just simply wait. Wait until they gain enough money for the remastering process and get better film masters. Or wait until Toei makes their own Blu-rays. But even if Toei does remaster Dragon Ball Z on Blu-ray, it still doesn't mean it will look as good if not better than ...

Re: FUNimation DBZ TV Blu-ray Official On-Going Thread
Why re-release the first 2 sets if the rest of the sets are going to have a cheaper remastering process? Either stick to DVD or just cancel the sets.

Because it's too difficult for FUNimation to remaster the rest of the series frame by frame.oXdanXo wrote:Why have they discontinued them? Does anyone know?

Re: Dragon Ball Z - Level 1.1 and Level 1.2 - Collect. Blu-r
It may be incomplete, but the y' r e very collectible now. Yeah, I'm very disappointed that FUNimation decided to cancel the rest of the series on Blu-ray , b ut I still don't regret buying the first Level sets. It's nice having a film like quality version of the series, even if it is just 34 ...

Dragon Ball fanbase get screwed over the most?
So in the recent years we had badly remastered DVDs, censored mangas, a terrible live-action film adaptation, Kenji Yamamoto's score being removed from Kai, Kai ending without the Buu saga due to poor ratings, and now cancelled Blu-ray sets. And I thought Star Wars fans had it bad.

Re: FUNimation DBZ TV Blu-ray Official On-Going Thread
Would you guys say 2.1 and 2.2 are finished. They just need to be released.
I was going to say the samething. Those sets should be ready to be released. They can't just put it on hold for very long. They already spend a lot of money on remastering them, might as well release them as planned ...

Re: FUNimation's Dragon Boxes have indeed been discontinued
Clearly you don't. You just said the Levels used the original 16mm film. The "I know that" response makes no sense. I'm just trying to point out that the Orange Brick masters, which is what they used for the Levels, did not use the original 16mm film as you said. It used the Orange Brick masters ...

Re: FUNimation's Dragon Boxes have indeed been discontinued
I was thinking of buying the Dragon Box, but people say the new BluRay level sets are much better, so i may end up buying those instead.
Makes me wonder if a BluRay Dragon Box is possible.
What's the point? Even IF the Dragon Box comes to Blu-ray that still doesn't mean its going to look better ...
