Re: How do you feel about DBS retroactively saying "Beerus did it"?

Is it known if when Raditz said that Planet Vegeta was destroyed by an asteroid was that conceived then as a lie told to Raditz by Freeza or was Freeza destroying the planet a retcon in its day?

I also presumed it was a retcon. I feel the same about the Beerus retcon as I do that one; doesn't ...

Re: What is the General Consensus for Super?

The Star Wars canon is tens times less confusing than the Dragonball canon.

The Dragon Ball canon is not particularly confusing. Speaking to Star Wars fans, their general consensus is that there are many different levels of canon, and it can get quite confusing.

It all depends. Star Wars is ...

Re: What is the General Consensus for Super?

So far I think its okay. I enjoyed BoG well enough, but not so well as to want it again in a longer format and animated less well. There have been some small changes I've enjoyed, but I probably would have preferred to have something brand new. Ultimately, though, I'm just enjoying it as it goes ...

Re: DB/Z/GT/Kai things you still havent seen

I have only see a couple of random GT episodes. I have not watched the series as a whole. I have only seen the first three DBZ movies plus the first Broly and Cooler movies. I have only seen brief snippets of Kai.

Re: How violent will the new movie be?

Missing the point of what? Dragon Ball was never trying to make a point all it was trying to do was be cool and fun, that's exactly why it was violent. Yeah it did well in america while censored, but what made people even more interested was discovering that it was indeed censored, and then you ...

Don't discredit my sentiment if you can't give an argument as to why its so silly. And good opinions are usually based upon facts and reasoning you silly head.

I didn't discredit nor was I intending to discredit your sentiment. I was expressing my own personal opinion about the sentiment you ...

Re: How violent will the new movie be?

1) I fail to see how your reply is relevant. I don't claim to be an "intellectual," regardless of whatever you meant by using that word. I was also just expressing my opinion of your opinion. There are no points to be made since I'm not really debating any specific argument.

2) Personally, I find ...

Isn't the pre-DBZ portion uncensored? I know my copies, from the box set, have naked bits and all that.

Re: How violent will the new movie be?

Because Dragon Ball is mostly about action, so things like blood are necessary to give an impact to the visuals and make watching it grittier and thus more entertaining. Don't give me this bullshit about "violence doesn't matter, language doesn't matter, graphics don't matter" if nothing fucking ...

was of no consequence to the goings-on of the world but unlike Yamucha had some shame about it and didn't hang around all the time and sponge off of others.

This is probably closest to what would be "true." He was never a friendly guy and only ever spent time with everyone when the world was in ...

Re: How would the story change if Toriyama planned ahead?

I would like to see a remake of sorts with all the knowledge of the completed "original series." A second draft, if you will. I think with a little ironing out of the inconsistencies, there's some real potential for a truly epic, unified saga. It already plays out really well for AT having made it ...

Re: DBZ portion of Manga to be in full color?!

I don't really think there has been anything to indicate that it is animanga. I figure its pretty obvious it would be colored to match the show, but its still Toriyama's art.

Re: How do you still keep the flame alive after 20 years?

I enjoy a lot of different franchises over various genres and industries. Which one I'm most interested in at any given time depends on multiple factors. Right now, DB/Z is fairly high on my list partially due to generic excitement over the new movie and the color versions of the manga along with ...

Re: How to start a DragonBall collection

Keep in mind as well, you shouldn't expect to have a massive collection soon. Getting *everything* of something is going to cost a lot of movie and, in some cases, some time to find and acquire. Working a minimum wage job while going to school (I assume) is not going to provide you with many ...
