I dgaf about how many characters, it lost my vote when BT2 came out with like 130 characters and 90% of them where essentially clones. I'd be interested to see if each character has a distinctly different move/special gameplay style which makes it stand out from all of the other ones.

It is a gag-manga/anime adaption and its Japanese. It's not meant to make any logical sense, like most things that come out of Japan. That's the eternal charm of this and many series'.

FUNimation have no licensing for any of the "print" media, and I doubt VIZ Media have any reason to release the Daizenshuu because they would end up with a financial loss with them.

I also bet the Daizenshuu's have plenty of information about them and power levels in them.

Secondly, I'm pretty sure the notated "power levels" (described within the Japanese Manga and Anime up to the disuse of scouters) are written in the daizenshuu, which were never released in English.
