Re: Buu Saga Kai
So here's a fun fact: Boo saga starts the same month that JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders starts. Looks like April's gonna be a very awesome month.

Dragon Ball Kai's dub.
I say this because while I love the Japanese cast, they either sounded tired, weren't directed properly or were recasted (with an instance of stunt casting for Dende). You know something is wrong when you make Norio Wakamoto's acting sound really off. The dub, on the other ...

Re: Anime Streaming Site Daisuki to stream Dragon Ball Z
It's like that in both. It's the episodes themselves that have the awful audio quality because of Toei not having access to higher audio quality for the episodes themselves anymore.

Re: Anime Streaming Site Daisuki to stream Dragon Ball Z
Looking through it, here's what this is.
Episode 1 is from FUNimation's Blu-ray remaster. It's missing the opening and ending credits, it has the movie 1 stamp in the opening, the video size is somewhat larger, the colors are closer to FUNi's masters and there are no next episode previews. However ...

Looking at episode 4, this looks exactly like the Dragon Box footage.

Re: Is a narrator really needed?
Not to mention, outside of the recap, the narrator said just as little during the episodes and the end of the episodes. Plus whatever he would say at times at the end would have him come across as him following allowing with the story and wonder how things will play out, but not to the point where ...

Re: Is a narrator really needed?
It depends on which version you're referring to. The dub had a habit of having the narrator yammer on and on and on when the original would have the narrator give maybe one or two lines during the recap while letting the actual footage and characters do all the showing and telling. It's amazing how ...

Re: DBZ Orange Bricks being separated into parts
That's most definitely a Wal-Mart exclusive, as I've seen this done with other TV shows with full seasons split into parts, such as Futurama.

Re: Swear words in Dragon Ball Manga
Didn't Viz go back and redo some of the dialogue in their later reprint editions of the Freeza saga to remove some of the "harsh language?" Was around the same time they started editing all of Bulma's nude moments in DB, too.

Re: FUNimation's Dragon Boxes have indeed been discontinued
Having a hard time finding Volume 4, and my PS3 died last night. I may end up selling what I have including Volume 2. How much could I get for the first two volumes?
I'd say $200-$250.
That's assuming people actually PAY for those prices. Remember, just cause we have resellers selling at those ...

Re: Dragonbox 2 outragous price.....
I have to ask, but did FUNi actually announce that these were limited releases? As far as memory serves, we only found out these were limited releases because we noticed Volume 2 going out of stock constantly and asked them about this out of fear of it being a limited print run. I can't really ...

My guess is they simply fudged up and put all the stuff from the original discs into the newer ones by mistake.

I have the same double movie fansub tape (same cover and all), except it's of movies 7 and 8.
Surprisingly the quality's actually decent and the subs are alright, for the most part. I may try to get a new VCR so I can take some shots of some of the leftover fansub tapes I got a hold of over the ...

Re: Japanese DVD Release Has the Kikuchi Score - Confirmed
The change to the Kikuchi score isn't bad as a concept itself. It's just the execution is heavily screwed, seeing as how we have a director that's basically incapable of choosing the right pieces.

At the very least, it seems he went with some movie 7 music for Goku's Super Saiyan transformation.

Re: Kai Episode 97 (27 March 2011)
Agreed. The Trunks epilogue works as a conclusion to a story arc, not a conclusion to a series. It's weird to have everybody celebrate and say their farewells and then have a final episode where one of those guys just goes around tearing shit up.
But that's the thing. We have a proper conclusion ...

Re: Kai Episode 97 (27 March 2011)
It's likely they decided to skip the episode because it wasn't necessary to wrap up the storyline. I doubt they would've left things on a cliffhanger... they just sort of realized 'we really don't have to show this episode.' If you saw this as a Japanese kid and knew nothing else about Dragonball ...
