Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

If Beerus > Goku > 7-3 Moro > Jiren > Belmod, which I admit the latest chapter implies...it means that Beerus is at the level where if Belmod punched Beerus, he'd break his arm even trying, which is pretty hilarious. Who would have guessed that when watching the GoD battle royale where Belmod restr...

Re: "Dragon Ball Super (Manga)" Official Discussion Thread

I think it's a totally fair criticism. Cell, Hit, 7-3, Moro 7-3 and (mostly first form) Freeza all have very similar faces with the dual lines running down the cheeks (though Freeza looks the most different with his different nose and lips). With Cell and Freeza there were supposed to be similaritie...

Re: could Quitela be the new Cui?

The scene where Cui has Beerus on the ropes but Beerus taps into UI and stomps him was pretty cool, but it would be a retread if they did that with Quitela too. Beerus also doesn't need two rivals.

Re: The Super Re-Read

It's a really interesting observation that Belmod playing dead during the exhibition match is the same technique U7 ultimately uses to win the whole thing against Belmod's own universe. I remember wondering what that was trying to imply with that, just reading it as Belmod being stronger than he was...

Re: goku never kissed chichi makes sense and consistent with the story

There's no justifying it logically why Goku and Chichi would have never kissed in all the decades they've been married, especially considering that Chichi is something of a romantic person. It's a dumb joke for sure, taken to its logical conclusion it's nonsensical when you think about their childre...

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

I presume this as well honestly. I got the impression (in the manga anyhow) the gaps aren't supposed to be massive anymore, but rather gradual shifts toward/surpassing the strongest fighters introduced throughout the serires. I especially got that impression after re-reading all the material from t...

Re: Official Unofficial Power Level Discussion Thread

Can you clarify where Vegeta says he is superior to anyone in the tournament using only his base form? Because I don’t see it. The context was about how the Saiyans compared to each other. Piccolo and No.18 aren’t Saiyans. https://i.imgur.com/doWx7h7.png He is confident he will win the tournament a...

Re: Why do so many people dislike GT Pan?

It's totally different to how she was at the end of Z. She seemed to be much more like Goku in personality, loving fighting and having loads of potential. In GT she takes a lot more personality cues from the worst traits of Bulma, and her role is often that of a damsel in distress.

Re: Zamasu, The Super Dragon Balls, and The Zero Mortal Project

Yeah, Zamasu is all about arrogance, extravagance and theatrics. He also could have wished himself to be unspeakably strong but deemed it more poetic to take over the body of who he thought was the strongest mortal.

The Oracle Fish's "prophecy" hasn't been brought up or mentioned again since the BoG arc
That's actually not true, it comes up again in the ToP arc when Vegeta is training with Whis.

Re: Super or GT poll

GT's ending is effective and emotional but only because it strongly evokes the feeling and good memories from Dragon Ball and Z, and not the ride that GT takes us on itself. I definitely prefer super. I think there's barely any good fighting choreography in GT at all. Honestly the only one that come...

Re: What is the likelihood of them introducing a Super Saiyan version of Ultra Instinct in the future?

UI did a good job of distinguishing itself as the opposite of super saiyan in how Goku first achieved the form, but super saiyan use now doesn't seem to rely on anger at all, especially after Goku mastered the form in the cell saga and could use it without any kind of strain. So if they wanted to co...

Re: Explanation to why weaker characters can withstand stronger ones attacks?

There are plenty of inconsistencies that can't really be explained, but generally I think the most important factor is if the character is specifically trying to do a killing blow or not.

I'd say his recent depictions of ultra instinct are the best it's ever looked. I really don't want to go back to ultra instinct's most prominent feature being its big CGI aura.

Re: Dragon Ball Super Strength Discussion Thread

You're suffering from a severe case of denial if you still think Goku hasn't become a "formidable rival" The one that needs to prove he's a rival is Beerus. As of right now Goku can just stand there and watch Beerus break himself in half trying to hurt him. Beerus is old news now You’re trying to p...

Re: Do You Think? Pan/Age/SSG/Future

If they didn't do it after battle of gods, they probably won't do it ever. Not doing the god ritual for everyone (in universe) was a confusing choice. Even if it's because Toriyama/etc didn't want to make everyone be so strong, they had a perfect narrative excuse: absorbing the power of super saiyan...

Re: Why do some have a dislike of the climax of the Zamasu/Black arc?

Trunks' story in the original manga works because he is going back in time to save his own present. He goes to a past so different from his future that he learns a lot on a way, and brings new strength back with him to save his future. There's nothing altruistic about creating a new timeline for yo...
