TOEI making fun of their bad animation in Super?

Yeah, I'm not sure how else they'd depict Puer-as-Beerus. And I doubt they'd make fun of their own animation like this. Overall I think it's just an amusing coincidence.

Did people really not know that when Puer transforms his eyes become like dots? I thought it was very obvious.

I don't think there's even a "possibly" here. Puar's transformations have always carried over the dot eyes, and I doubt anyone at Toei's interested in making fun of a situation that occurred to other animators because of a scheduling collapse (if they're even aware of that being passed around as a blown-up inbetween, which they're probably not).

Pu-erh's mouth isn't a straight line. It has curved edges.

This is just Yashima letting the audience know that Pu-erh changed into Beers in a funny manner. It's not a reference to Episode #5.

Maybe those animators were fired? Episode 5 aired in 2015 after all, its literally been nearly a year since it aired. I'm sure there were some staff changes since the show began.

Toei mostly hires freelancers and uses Toei Animation Phillipines animators for Super.

Nobody is going to be fired. The staff doesn't have enoughstaff as it is, they can't afford to stop relying on their contacts for mistakes the producer made.
