Z fighter vs. ...
There's a problem with trying to compare Dragonball Z characters to other characters from other anime, manga, comics or other characters in media.
We've been led to believe that many Z characters can move extremely fast. To the point where less skilled or trained eyes can't even see them. We've been led to believe that they are capable of destroying worlds in the matters of moments (the only one to really do so in my opinion is Kid Buu. I, myself, don't count Freeza and Namek). Their physical strength has been shown to be quite vigorous, with being able to lift up cars, trucks, boulders, weights and what not. And, also their abilities to withstand severe beatings and still continue fighting.
It's these attributes that I believe alienate them from being able to be matched up against other beings. To be more precise, it's the alien characters, Saiyans, Namekians, and any of the Z Saga enemies. I know that many have tried to compare them to others in comics and manga but Dragonballs Z characters have a god-like position. And the only comparison would be with other god-like characters. The problem that arises is that when you do find that someone that's close enough is that no one tends to leave that "discussion" in one piece. And that actually saddens me a little because that's what fans should be able to do peacefully.
What do yall here think about this? Many of you have probably come arcoss many of these instances.

I hate conversations like that so I avoid them altogether. It's amazing the number of people who think Broly could beat Cell or even SSJ3 Goku
. Also I just thought I'd point out that you forgot about when Vegeta blows up the planet Arlia.

Maybe Arlia was a really small planet?TriforceCaptre wrote:I hate conversations like that so I avoid them altogether. It's amazing the number of people who think Broly could beat Cell or even SSJ3 Goku. Also I just thought I'd point out that you forgot about when Vegeta blows up the planet Arlia.
I agree, discussions about power usually go one of two ways: either it dissolves into 'Broli is the uber-awesome' and 'lolxorz kid buu can eat mountains lolxorz'; or the discussion halts because someone feels like they have all the answers already, and can't be bothered to explain themselves 'I've explained this to someone else, six months ago - I can't be bothered to tell you about it, I'm obviously right - my reasoning is flawless. No, I'm not going to _explain_ it to you, you're too stupid anyway'.
Some of us can, in fact, carry on conversations about the subject. Some of us spend a lot of time on the subject.
(é) Yeah, I'm famous. Super famous. I start things.

Does Freeza destroying Planet Vegeta count then? >.>;;Anonymous Friend wrote: We've been led to believe that many Z characters can move extremely fast. In my own opinion, I believe that it takes longer that just five minutes. It took more than a couple of hours for Namek to finally go boom. I have read it in the manga yet, so until I read that and see how long it takes me to read from the point he drops it until BOOM!!!Pedro The Hutt wrote:Does Freeza destroying Planet Vegeta count then? >.>;;Anonymous Friend wrote: We've been led to believe that many Z characters can move extremely fast. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't, and I'm not even a DC/Superman fan really.Steven Perry wrote:I know what this is coming to, so let's cut to the chase...
Goku would own Superman.
(even that strong-looking golden one)
I think DesireCampbell has posted a few links and serious reasons why that wouldn't happen.
And why is it always Superman he's compared to? It love to see a Goku/Silver Surfer fight myself!

I have to disagree with you there, AF. I do not believe that DragonBall Z is incomparable to other characters. I believe that they are incredibly powerful, but when you pit them up to beings like Galactus, well, he'd quite literally crush them. (Though you might count Galactus as a god-like being.)
I don't think I'd "degrade" myself by getting into the Superman debate—not so much because it's a popular topic of discussion amongst newbies, but rather because Superman is, well, too super. He is invincible without reason ("he was born that way") with a crippling Kryptonite allergy that makes him useless if the opposition has access to it. Aside from Batman (and maybe Bionicles
) DC's not really my cup of tea.
Marvel, on the other hand, even without Galactus, has a slew of characters that could properly annihilate DBZ if given the chance. Cable, for instance, could read their minds; even take them over, or he could just go back in time and shoot them point-blank (presuming, of course, it was not an alternate timeline method like Trunks'—I don't recall how it works in the X-Men series).
As for Silver Surfer, Saiyans can't breathe in space, and he can, so all he'd have to do is draw them out there to kill them. The easy way to do this would be to force them out since his boss eats planets for breakfast (Capsule Corp spacecrafts ripped through with one slice through with the Surfer's board), but since I am leaving G out of these examples, I would think that a being as intelligent as Norrin Radd could figure something out.
BUT, all that aside, as far as flying, speed, and projectile powers go I'd say they are pretty easily-matched. My above treatment can be nixed if you consider the facts that Silver is by no means ruthless, and depending on the point in his timeline, may very well be on his own by that point.
But my point here isn't to sway anyone one way or the other. My point is to demonstrate that there are a ton of other super-beings out there that could take out the Z Fighters. At the end of the day, it comes down to the circumstances surrounding that fight and the skill of the parties involved that decides the victor. Personally I love crossover battles, hypothetical as most are, which is why I am writing a novel-length crossover fan-fiction (when I finally get around to my umpteenth revision, that is). It's going to involve DBZ quite a bit and I'd love to share it with you guys when it's ready and listen to suggestions for potential battles.

Because Norrin Radd (Silver Surfer) was a grown man who chose to become the Herald of Galactus, whereas both Kal-El and Kakarrotto were sent as babies to Earth in a similar fashion.wannywan wrote:And why is it always Superman he's compared to? It love to see a Goku/Silver Surfer fight myself!
Personally, I'd love to see Goku vs. Thor. Why? Three words: Goku claims Mjolnir

Though it's not quite as bewildering as Mister Mxyzptlk.
Anyway, back on task, me and my brother once had the discussion on what might happen if someone like Tao Pai Pai took on Hatake Kakashi.

During the early years he did a lot of crazy stuff. I mean his X ray vision acted like his heat vision. However later on they amened this my creating some bizarre radiation that finally put limits put limits on supermans's power and made krypotonite edible as powerless against superman. They only kept the kryptonite working it the later redoings and TV shows. Little known fact Kryptonite originally came from the superman radio show. But enough of tat fights I truly like to see would be clash of characters with the same personalties in other anime. Vegeta vs. Kaibai (Kaiba's monsters more than holograms of course). Hercule vs. Team Rocket That kind of stuff.Humpski wrote:Superman once sneezed away an entire galaxy.
No, I'm not joking.

No , he didn`tSuperman once sneezed away an entire galaxy.
No, I'm not joking.
That means that you don`t know what you`re talking about . When somebody tells you stuff try actually reading the comic and not go just by what you heard .
As for the Galactus , SS and other characters going at it with DBZ characters , I`m going to tell what I think about it later .
Greaaaat.
Yeah, Superman and a lot of the other heroes are just powerful for the hell of it. They can't really lose. The Z characters are just as powerful in comparison to some other characters but they worked their way up to it, at least.
I always wondered how they made Superman exciting when nothing could touch him...

Yes he did, in February 1961. Mr. Mxyzptlk let a cloud of magic sneezing powder loose on Metropolis and (pre-Crisis) Superman couldn't hold back a "super-sneeze" that destroyed an entire distant solar system.Magneto wrote:No , he didn`tSuperman once sneezed away an entire galaxy.
Please don't. No one cares. As for the Galactus , SS and other characters going at it with DBZ characters , I`m going to tell what I think about it later .
