FUNimation DVD Sale At FYE...

Post by Tanooki Kuribo » Thu Apr 26, 2007 5:40 pm

FYE is having a sale on select anime DVD's from FUNimation. The sale is 5 DVD's for $15.00. The only DragonBall related title there was the 5 DragonBall GT: Lost Episodes discs. So yea... If you want the first 16 episodes of DBGT I suggest you go to FYE. :?

Here is a pic from my phone for proof. :D

Edit: I just checked FYE.com to see if the sale would be at the online store to. Its not, in fact those Lost Episode disc are like $17.99 there.

I wonder if it applies to the dbz ones at my local mall...

Granted I haven't been to that FYE in a while.

WTF? They were 4 for $20 a few weeks ago at my FYE.

I got the 4 LE discs I didn't have, as well as some Case Closed and that first Yu Yu Hakusho 2-disc set.

Yeah. It's in-store only. I was at my FYE last weekend and bought some. Each DVD rang up for $3 each. The only titles that were in that sale bin were:

DBGT: Lost Episodes Vols. 1-5, and A Hero's Legacy
random Lupin the 3rd Movies
Kodocha - Vol. 1
random Yu Yu Hakusho DVDs
random FMA DVDs
Kiddy Grade
Beyblade
& Tenchi Muyo GXP

I got me Kodocha Vol. 1, and the rest of the GT Lost Episodes discs I was missing. Does anyone actually know when the sale is supposed to last until. That sale bin's been there for at least 3 weeks now...

Well, if you go to their site, it looks like another DVD/CD store. I didn't know that I was within range of one until I did a quick google maps search. I'll definitely keep this in mind for my weekend plans, since I've got all of GT except for the "lost episodes," the special, and one of the dark dragons discs that my friend never returned to me.

One just down the road...I'll stop by tomorrow. Singles won't be so easy to find much longer, and they're all I'll buy.

My FYE sucks. They categorize anime under the "We don't carry that" category in most cases.

It makes me sad that Suncoast closed.

I miss Suncoast SO badly. They were easily my favorite dvd store. Now the closest one to me is off at Oxford Valley Mall. I have to cross the border into Pennsylvania in order to get to Suncoast now. TT_TT

What FMA discs are part of the sale? I need 7-10. I don't wanna make a 60-mile trip down to FYE for nothing.

Eh, Suncoast's prices were sucky, they like ... NEVER discounted anything. There was one reason I liked shopping there though: preorders. That's how I was able to buy the majority of my Hajime no Ippo/Fighting Spirit DVDs. A year ago, mine closed down too , and I dso miss it.

I saw Vols. 5 and onward... but that's my FYE here in the boonies of North Carolina though.

The Suncoast in my area is having the same 5 for $15 sale on Funimation stuff (I think FYE and Suncoast are both owned by the same company? Not surprising they'd have the same kind of sale). I had no idea that so many Suncoasts are being shut down, the ones in my area are still up and running.

The fye's in my area range from giant store with an arcade, a split between FYE and FYE games and a small FYE that best games include a monopoly connect four two pack for the GBA.

Does anyone know if this sale applies to the DBZ movies? If it does, they're gonna be out pretty soon.

Well, yes and no. It didn't used to be so, but FYE "absorbed" the Suncoast/Sam Goody/Mediaplay family into itself to keep many of the stores open and prevent the bankruptcy from killing them.

I do miss my local mall Sam Goody but thats only because they carried an unhealthy amount of anime merchandise. For the DVDs I'd long stopped buying from them and focused more on the local bestbuy or animecornerstore.com on the interwebs.

Is the sale still on? For once, I was actually swamped with weekend homework and couldn't go anywhere.

I live about 40 miles from my nearest FYE. Looks like I'm gonna be driving for a while pretty soon. ;)
