I think the BETA in Japan will only start at the end of the year and DBO (if it ever get shipped to USA and the rest of the world) will be released at the next end of the year of the rest of the world.

Is anyone else going to get this as soon as it's out of beta?

I forget: will this be available as a PC game or next gen console only? If it comes out as a PC game I might get it. If it comes out on the Wii.... I might get a Wii and the game. :P

It'd freaking better be on PC.

It's about time they made a game for the PC.
As far as I know there has only been one Dragonball game on PC: The Legend of Goku. And it can't be found anywhere as far as I know. Anyone knows?

^^ What? I'm not plugging anything..Huh? I definitely see this game being on the pc. If it had to be for a console, it would be 360 but that would be a bad move. Now, just about everybody has a computer or three at home, that's not the same for a 360/Ps3/Revolution.

It was initially being designed, and reported, for release on PC - then some information surfaced about them hiring developers for Xbox 360.

So, is anyone else planning on struggling through Japanese menus along-side me?

Yeah. I'm definitely getting this game.
Mind you, the Japanese doesn't really bother me >.>

I don't mean to burst people's bubbles, but if this is like most MMO's, you can't just import it. You'd need a billing address in Japan on your account. :?

Alright, I know this is an old post here, but I've not been in this thread in ages so...

Xyex wrote: Clones? Seriously? I don't know, I don't see many clones. Sure, there's powers that are similiar, but that exists in all games. Classes exist to help diversity. And they'd be far from difficult in Dragonball. Soldier, Warior, Martial Artist, Witch, Wizard, Healer, Bandit, Inventer, Monk... those are off the top of my head. Each with its own advantages and disadvantages. Its own available moves, abilities, varried stats, and equipment options.
I'd think that within Dragonball, Monk/Martial Artist/Warrior/Soldier would all fill the same role. Mr.Toriyama was nice enough to let us know what would happen if one of the characters had a sword... (Hyah! ..aw, it broke..) and guns were shown to be useless since chapter one.
So, witch/wizard (mage, whatever)... would be following what example? Save for statistics (I.E. A mage-esque class having more Ki....) what would be the difference?
Lastly you offer Bandits and Healers... Bandit just doesn't shout Dragonball to me ('Shunkanido Wallet Steal!')... But I could see how a Healer could be worked into things. I mean, everyone wants to be Dende.
Wow, just... wow. Ok, guess I'll explain then. No, they'd not 'fill the same roll'. Different stat arrangements. Different available skills. Different combat styles.

Monk: Good speed and agility but low defense and attack. High Ki level and strong Ki attacks, however Ki moves are non-lethal only. Also can use small ammounts of magic.

Martial Artist: All around balanced hand-to-hand fighter but a little low on Ki level and Ki power. Can use staff weapons.

Warrior: Very High phsical attack but low speed, defense, agility, Ki level, and Ki power. Can use various melee weapons.

Soldier: Average attack and speed, good Ki level and high Ki power, good defense, low agility. Can use various ranged weapons.

And don't forget that Trunks sword only broke against the Androids who were considerably stronger than him. It sliced very easily through Freeza. So obviously swords are useful. XP

Also, we've seen magic on several occasions in the series. Baba and Bibidi are pretty big magic users. Wouldn't be a stretch to imagine that a powerful witch/wizard could give a good fight against someone.

Healers would just have much lower stats than the others but would have the best healing and recover magic at their disposal. As for bandits... what? How can you not think of a bandit when you think of Dragonball? It was, after all, Yamcha's original profession! Every character class I listed is present in Dragonball.

Xyex wrote:Becasue you're not discarding the story-line. You're adapting and implementing the story-line. And, really, your suggestion just wouldn't work. Take the concept but not make it Dragonball and it would still be Dragonball. The series is just to unique and specific to really pass off anything similar as not being Dragonball at heart.
But there's only so much you can bend it before the twig breaks. (In the real world, the twig broke at DBGT)
I need to reiterate... I'm not saying all your suggestions couldn't bring this game into existance and slap a Dragonball title on it (I'm sure at some point in the past, someone was sitting in a board meeting exclaiming 'GET OUT OF THE BOX! I mean... jeez, we can still turn Goku back into a kid and spread the balls across the universe...) I'm just saying it's my opinion that taking Dragonball to an alternate dimension with an abundance of Saiya-jins who use magic and pick pockets would be so far gone from what I'd expect from Dragonball that I'd never play it. :?
GT didn't bend anything. GT went off of what exist and just added. Very bad example. Bending would be the What-ifs in the games and everyone seems to want more of those. :P

And, well, frankly, from what you've said, I don't care what you'd play because it'd be the same damn game I've already played and don't feel like playing again.

Why don't someone here get a Japanese penpal or a friend in Japan and everyone here could use that address?

Well sure, if someone has a friend in Japan that would let them use their address, they could probably get away with something like that. (I've known plenty of people that have done similar things in other games.) But if everyone on this forum interested in the game used one Japanese address, that could get a little suspicious and possibly even get everyone involved into some legal trouble.

Some do let though so there is hope.

E.G A lot of people in the uk imported COH and COV before they came out here and they worked fine.

The Wii? It can't be on the Wii. I know it's been mentioned already, but it's possible they're working on a 360 version of the game. If that's the case, the U.S. would probably get the game.

Yeah, I'm probably gonna stick with the Japanese game. Korean...I only can (slightly remember) how to say "Yomo ko" or something like that. It's supposed to mean "Fuck you". (Thanks Song-Mi!) I know it's a definate PC release and a most likely 360 one too.
