Okay.

I... uh... don't know how to use it yet.
Have you looked at the Help file?

Anyways, easy way to do it.
File > Start Server
Configuration > User Manager
Make a User, password, the works.

Then access it yourself using an FTP client. Your IP address will be the FTP address. Like so (77.34.55.234, blahblah, dinglebat. Address, username, password).

So yeah =D

I've got it! For the poster, we could have Goku's hand reaching up towards Earth (as it fades into a desert), as in the following picture:

Image

It really conveys the struggle of that gruesome battle.

Behind the Earth, faded, we could have the henchmen standing from above:

Image

I need high-resolution versions of these images, or even better some 'cels' (so I don't have to go through all the trouble of cutting them out and drawing extra details).

Or maybe someone here could draw them- but fast, 'cause I'm impatient.

Sweet, it seems we've got ourselves a second poster design (yes, second; Shinpan and I have worked too hard on the first at this point to not use it).

Can't say I have cels, but I'll put up some HQ screencaps for you later, Stevey-boy. Am I to assume you're going to be the one whipping this one up? If so, I'll just finish the first one.

Also, I now know how to set up an FTP server, and capsuleman has PM'd me back and is still going to rip the sexy DragonBox footage for us!

So right now, our most important objective is needing someone to volunteer to host the footage on their machine. The requirements for such are:
  • A spare about 20 GBs of hard drive space.
  • A fast internet connection.
  • A fairly free schedule (so we can arrange when to have the server running so folks can log on and get what they need), or you're one of those blokes who opts to leave their computer running.
  • Knowledge of how FTP servers work or enough patience to withstand my explaining it and help setting it up.
I believe a few of you have already raised your hands, so to speak, on the matter on past pages, so I'll be browsing the thread and PMing those of you who did. But why not just save me the extra trouble and volunteer?

On the subject of the poster Kaboom, I probably still have the psd of that with Gokuh and Tullece as a separate layer and I could send that to you, but I really think that's the best position for them unless either you add more background or I go in and draw the legs. If you really can't cover the cut off with text than my suggestion would just be to crop the image. But if you really want the psd just let me know.

That looks more like king kai's planet than earth with the tree of might.

EDIT: The first one.

EDIT

For the poster, I'll need the full names of the main cast (so I can put the names at the bottom).
SSJ Conan wrote:I didn't wanna bring this up in the actual thread, but isn't that just a bit ridiculous? I mean, this is a fandub where none of our names will be recognizable, much less worth anything in the viewers' eyes. In my opinion, it'd just be a waste of space; our names should only have a place in the ending credits of the fandub. Just my thoughts on the matter.
If we have the names of the cast at the bottom, it'll look more realistic:

(That chunk of text is from the Transformers movie)

So, what do you guys think of the tag-line:

'Once it takes root...

There's no turning back.'

(but there is turning back, 'cause you can use the Dragon balls :P )

There's one bit missing to this poster: the hand.

Wow, Steve. Great job on this one. Let's give him a hand, folks!

*Dodges tomato*

Now about people's names... I think their forum handles would be enough for the poster, but then again, one of our main voice actors isn't technically a forum member (I am of course referring to Rene, the voice of Tullece.).

So I guess we'll just put full names on the poster, provided folks are willing to give them. When we make the end credits later, we'll put their forum handles on there, too.

For the first poster I'm still working on, how does "Face to face" sound for a tagline? Or something like that; a little help?

Edit: Also, I found the FAQ on how to use Cerberus.

Well, it turns out that I, personally, am having problems with trying to use an FTP server because I'm working on my laptop, which is getting it's interwebs connection from a wireless router. It would seem that in order for me to set up a server, I'd have to tweak my router's settings in ways that I quite frankly don't know how to.

So really, there's nothing more I can do in experimenting with that (Hopefully I'll still be able to access it once we have one, though). Someone else who's more knowledgeable about how FTP servers work is going to have to take the reins and get one set up somewhere.

I don't know... but what I do know is that a good one will just come to you when you least expect it.

Alright. I'm going to download that 'Cerberus' thing shortly. I'm sure things will be... fine? :?

I actually kinda like how Goku and Tullece aren't there at first, if you ask me.

My PhotoShop isn't letting me use the animation; I think I have an older version.
Eclipse wrote:I'm glad you like it man :)
I'll be your 'tester' if you'd like.
Okay.

I... uh... don't know how to use it yet.
It looks like several of the layers on Steven Perry's version of the poster use Flash components. I neither have Flash at the moment nor any knowledge of how to use/view Flash with Photoshop, so I don't know how to get it to work on my computer. (I dunno, I just took a look... o-o )

EDIT: Ooh, nevermind. So there's gonna be two different posters... hah. Apparently I forgot there was another page to read on the thread... Good work so far, Steven! :D

I should probably say thanks to Conan for mentioning the logo I did... so, thank you? ^^;

I'll be installing Cerberus myself shortly; once I figure my way around it, I'll contact you about it, Kaboom. It might be good to test it out with several different people, actually... that way we can find any problems that might come up before we actually start using the FTP to get this stuff to everybody.

Also, I'll say once again that I have more than 70 GBs of hard drive space that you guys can use. Also, my internet connection is fairly fast (wireless FTW, though since I'm sharing it with other people in my family I have to be careful about when I can use it all up without people complaining 8D; ) and I usually keep my computer on anyways. (It doesn't like waking back up from hibernation and I don't typically turn it off unless it's acting like a bitch.) I have a little knowledge of FTP servers, though I'm still trying to figure it out for myself... however, I can handle long explanations if you need to give any. ^^;

Update on the scripts: They are coming along, though honestly not as quickly as I'd like. It's a matter of getting clips from the movie, watching them several times over, and mixing and matching the different scripts to make them synch with the animation. So far, I've been able to do a pretty good job of using just what I was given in preparing the final script; however, I've noted a couple of scenes where putting together parts of both scripts still wouldn't result in a line that matched with the animation, so I've had to add things in here and there (like "you bastard" in one of the combat scenes with Goku and Tullece). Hopefully this won't miff you guys too much, but to be safe... Kaboom, once I'm done putting yours and Shinpan's scripts together, could I trouble you to look it over and let me know if I should rewrite those lines? The stuff you guys gave me I've been able to work with really well so far; it's just those certain lines I'm wondering about... o_o;

Also, I noted (in your script) that there were a couple more random people than just the guy running out of his car screaming. Did we ever cast anyone for those, and if not, what should be done with those particular lines? (Do you just want me to delete them, or can we find anyone who'd be willing to voice those bit parts?)

I'm afraid that won't work for names, unfortunately. I only listed participants by their DaizEX usernames. D:

I know some of the real names of the main cast, but not all of them. How should we ask about for those without sounding... invasive? o-o;

Yeah, I can't figure out how to on my Photoshop, either. Must be an older version. Can't complain though, since I got it for free...
KinoFourpaws wrote:<FTP Stuff>
Okey dokeys. Though like I just found out, it apparently takes some special settings on the router to work a server on a wireless connection. But if you can figure it out, then hey, you're better at it than I am. (70 GB = Happiness)
KinoFourpaws wrote:<Script Stuff>
Adding extra tidbits is fine; if it helps the lip-flaps match better and doesn't interfere with the message of the lines, then by all means, go for it. Heck, make 'em funny if you can (*ahem*... when appropriate, of course...)

I didn't list the lines for every random screaming pedestrian... Just make sure their lines are noted or given in the script, and we'll play rock-paper-scissors to decide who gets to scream what later. :)

Also, yeah, I'll give it a look-over when you're done with it.

(Just don't touch Goku's "I've crossed that gap" line! It will become epic! I swear! No matter how many times I have to personally coach omega to get it right!)

Yeah, I was going to point that out. Full names for at least the main cast on the poster would be best, and look the most "professional." Hopefully, the good folks voicing the mainest of the main characters (Goku, Tullece, Gohan, Piccolo and Hi-ya Dragon, I guess) wouldn't mind giving them.

As for the credits, folks won't have to give them if they don't want to. I figure we can use a format something like this:

Director______-______SSj Kaboom (Sean Gallagher)

Minus the full name in parentheses for whoever doesn't feel inclined to give them.

So I'll toss the question out there to our VAs for those aforementioned main characters. Would you guys mind giving out your names for the poster? Or would you prefer we spread just your member name all over the internet's tubes?

Another thing: I figure Stage6 would be a very good choice for a place to put up the final product. High-quality video and sound, widescreen format, and stuff isn't often removed from there, it would seem.

If I wasn't moving tomorrow, I'd totally set up an FTP for you (mind you, my line's only 100 K outbound, but it'd be there until you find something better.

But sadly, I'm moving and won't have 'net there for a couple weeks, if you're still FTP-less when I get hooked up, I'd be glad to help out (at a measly 100 KB/s).

What I'd like to do is stick this logo on the blank top of the poster:

But we're not supposed to be associated with DaizEX, and the lettering has been modified from a game's cover... :?

It was fun doing it anyways...
