Nice. I can't say I never expected someone of her caliber to snatch up such an awesome achievement like this. Good for her! This is really cool. I still find it kinda cool and inspirational how she got Goku later in life. Don't get me wrong, I know she had been acting way before she got him. But she literally got her famous role way after the age that most would consider to be the "prime" age.

Wow, really bro? This really doesn't seem like the place for this type of discussion. This has nothing to do with him at all.

Please I've seen worse on this site, when someone tries to say something nice about the Dub. I'm just having a little fun, I still said congratulations.

That's not fun at all. Its even worse that your idea of fun is raining on someone's parade.

Ok, and? It doesn't make it any better.

We have two different ideas of "fun". I mean, it's not like you kicked a puppy or something, but c'mon man. Really?

So teasing people a little is raining on someone's parade? It's not like she see's my comment anyway, you really don't have room to be talking at all actually. Since your one of the main culprits who talk negatively about the Funi voice actors, you even made a whole thread about them. Titled " are the real actors" or something, you act like I just insulted her or threw salt on her name. Goodness, I haven't even said one bad thing about her since I've been her.

I don't remember the exact title, ( like I said above) all I just know is you made it and people in the comments were getting all mad of how you titled it and saying how it disrespects the English voice actors. So I really don't care if I said Schemmel is better and I'm dropping this. I've give the lady her props on multiple occasions, I didn't know people would be so quick to jump the gun on something so trivial.

You're most likely talking about this thread, which wasn't even made by him. Which, in turn, makes your whole previous argument almost entirely weak.

Congratulations, Nozawa-san! After all, she deserved it after her iconic voice as Goku. Now someone give an Oscar for her perfect Goku Black voice while we are at it.

Well, yep that is one I apologize than Cure Dragon, still no point in fangirling over something so trivial.

Regardless of where one stands on their preferred voice(s) for a character, you still have to tip your hat to Nozawa I would hope - this is a monumental achievement, and I couldn't be happier for her! This coming so soon after her getting #2 from that seiyuu awards TV special too is awesome, she's truly a titan of talent. :D

I completely forgot that some of those old SNES games still had voice clips in them too, albeit a bit garbled due to the medium of the time. Exactly how many different video games for Dragon Ball has she performed in, since there's some that don't have voices at all (and even a few that only had the dub voices whenever they briefly piped up, like Legacy of Goku series, I believe)?

I'm not fangirling. Ok I apologize to you too. I just HATE to see people rain on anyone's parade. But Its just a forum, its not like you went to japan and spit in her face. I'm really sorry for everything.

Thats cute, but English Goku will always be more heroic and pure hearted. The true voice of Son Gokuu? Fair opinion but Goku isnt even Japanese because hes from a 2D fantasy world and lives in a different civilization, so how would you know what his actual voice sounds like? A 45 year old who still havent reached puberty lol?? Arrghh thats biologically impossible!!!

This is an appreciation thread. Really not interested in talking about other language Gokuus cause I don't care. By true voice, I meant the voice I remember and always will when I think of Son Gokuu. Not that difficult to understand. Okay, I should've worded it better. Disregard true, the most memorable Gokuu voice.

I appreciate this at least, Saikyo. I brought this issue up earlier & I'm sorry you had to get these responses. I did feel that calling one performance "true" to the exclusion of all others, was a little unfair to dozens of artists internationally that put their heart & soul into these characters for everyone to hear. But I did give props to Nozawa & I said she's a great actor. She reminds me of June Foray (may they both be with us as long as modern medicine holds out), & like Mrs. Foray, it's high time that she finally got an award for her work. I am glad that a foreign performer was able to get this record. I hope that more non-English-speaking actors are able to achieve this kind of attention. It normalizes racial & cultural differences, gives voice to marginalized communities, & brings us a step closer to achieving world peace.

I'm happy for her. Maybe someday she could surpass the record of Orlando Drummond, the brazilian voice of Scooby Doo, as the oldest and most time active voice actor/actress in the world. Orlando has 97 years and still acts in some dubs(speccially as Scooby Doo). For Nozawa it will take some time to reach that age, but it would be good to see it. I hope it happens in future.

I think only the first LoG has those little voice clips. It's when Goku uses a fully-charged Kamehameha, I believe. I don't think the other two games have them, unless I'm forgetting something.

Hmm...actually, you might be right, I don't recall any clips in LoGII or Buu's Fury. For the first game though, there was that Kamehameha instance, Vegeta saying something like 'I'm the strongest in the universe' sometime during the fight with him (when he turns into an Oozaru, I think?), and...I want to say Freeza had something somewhere too, but I can't remember where or what it was. So I could be remembering wrong there.

Sagas was only ever released in the US, right? Other than that the only other games I can think of that had voices at all that might not have ever had her work on them would be maybe GT: Transformation, and the Collectible Card Game GBA cartridge.

I no longer own the first video game but a quick look through the other two titles confirm Kamiccolo9's thoughts. The voice clip for Kamehameha is absent. And yes, that particular console video game was released for Western audiences. I believe the opening animation was done by someone within Dragon Ball's usual anime staff though.
