Good gravy! I'd like to play pafu pafu with her!

Oh, and somewhat serious note. Dragon Ball Z on Blu Ray is almost as redundant as the animanga. I mean, I could understand if it was the most popular format right now, but DVD is still the prevailing thing, and those movies are like 15 years old by now so they won't look much better, anyway, will they?

Who's that guy in the group shot supposed to be? Black pants-white shirt isn't too descriptive. :P

Yamcha. He made scars on his face, but you can't really see them in the picture. Looked pretty good in person, though.

probably not. I mean, damn. Look at that.

But yeah, great panel, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Especially the Harmony Gold dub... hilarious.

And, though this has nothing to do with DB or the topic, I'm on Believe in Hard Mode in Ouendan 2. Such a good game. Shouts out to Julian for making me aware of it in the first place.

I'll try.

Oh, and FYI, if nobody's mentioned, Suicune is pronounced like "Swee-coon".

Yeah, that's right. Like 90% of all other Legendary Pokemon, Suicune actually keeps it's Japanese name, in katakana that's スイクン.

OH. MY. GOD. O_O!! Funimation's dubbing Ouran High School Host Club?!!

WOOHOO!!! [/off topicness]

Anyway, good podcast. Completely understand how tired you were last week; I was dead after AnimeNEXT, from the commuting, and staying there from 9am - 2am (6pm on Sunday. :3) So tired. =_=

Yay! Mike, you like emo?! :D That makes me happy! Especially that you know what a REAL emo is (well, from what you said I would assume O.o; - I hope we're talking about the same thing). It bothers me when people (especially little frickin' kids who don't know what they're talking about), make fun of "emo" kids who cut themselves (which disturbs me, cause why wouldn't you HELP these kinds of people? O____o; ) And I would say, "No, that's not what emo is. I'm an emo guys." They'd be like, "No, you don't cut yourself or wear black. You don't know what you're talking about" And I'd be like, "DUDE! I F-KING LISTEN TO EMOCORE SH**HOLES! God..." on the inside. D: [/more off topicness]

I wish I could have seen your DBZ Never Seen Panel #2. ;_; It sounds like it went great. I need a way to get to Otakon, but I'd need to find a roomie who's at least 21. (I'm hoping to drag my cousin back into the con scene. I'll frickin' pay for the room, I just need someone old enough to count as the "adult", since apparently when you're 18 you're no a real adult. -_______-; )

EDIT: That Chichi cosplay looks like Lauren from my Intermediate Algebra class. O____O; What's "Intermediate" Algebra? A mistake my school made. :P
What's scarier than a DBZ H-game?

Just out of curiosity, how many other people from the site introduced themselves or showed up afterwards? I'd have liked to meet more people (I met Brakus, he was cool), but I had to skeedaddle back to my group.

It's a total blur to me. I remember having somewhat in-depth conversations with three or four people, but between the DVD-handouts and quick "hello" sessions outside, I honestly don't remember who all I saw and spoke with :P. Meri talked with a few people, as well.

Not to bring it off-topic, but veshira, I was brought into the genre back in high school (starting ~1997) with the trio of The Get Up Kids, Texas Is The Reason, and Sunny Day Real Estate.

Actually, I was planning on introducing myself, but I got kind of distracted after seeing some people I hadn't seen in a long time. By the way, I was Saiyaman, with turban and sunglasses. 8) I loved the panel though, definitely some awesome stuff in there. Awesome podcast too!

And I actually got two pictures with that Chi-Chi cosplayer.

Image

This one King Kai kind of got in the way. But she did take one with me at the beginning of the con, but me and my friends didn't have our own camera ready unfortunately.

The reason FUNimation is releasing the Broly movies on Blu-Ray and not any of the others can be found in the press release:
Two Dragon Ball Z Broly titles will be released simultaneously on one disc: Broly: The Legendary Super Saiyan and Broly: Second Coming. The titles represent two of the largest selling DBZ movies of all time.
Since they're the top-selling DVD's, FUNimation probably figured they'd be the top-selling Blu-Ray's as well.

Also...am I a bad fan for not having beat Pokemon Pearl yet?

The thing is (and this has been a hot topic among anime fans, blogs, and podcasts for the last couple months all of a sudden, but with good reason)... FUNimation can say whatever they want about what's "top selling". Since these anime companies aren't public, and therefore have no shareholders to appease, they can splut out whatever god damn marketing they want... there are no public numbers to back them up. For all we know, DBZ movie 10 was the worst-selling DBZ movie of all 13, but since no-one has to be held accountable in any way, shape, or form for these figures, we'll never know.

On the other hand, it's plain ol' common sense... the kiddies love the smashy-smashy.

Fair enough. But at the same time, there isn't that much of an incentive for them to lie about how well those movies are doing unless they happen to be the only ones they have "ready" for Blu-Ray. Which, while possible, seems very illogical.

Then again, this is FUNi we're talking about, so who knows?

The "official" reason for these two being chosen for Blu-Ray is their good sales, and until we hear anything different, that's going to be the one I believe.
