'Nuther quick question. Looking for details on Bra and Marron. I'm trying to design them for my fanfiction, and I'm a bit sketchy as to their ages.

I know Pan was four at the end of Z, making her an even 14 in my version of GT. I think Bra was supposed to be either the same age or just a bit older. Marron, however, was already that age during Buu, so by (my) GT, she'd be in her early 20's.

So I have rough ideas, but I'm looking for hard dates and facts, if anyone has them.

(If Pan and Bra truly ARE around the same age, then I've been designing the latter as rather provocative for a 14-15-year-old...)

According to the timeline, Marron is 18, Pan is 10, and Bra is 9 at the start of GT.

So then that's going by the space between DBZ and DBGT set up in the Perfect files, right? Doesn't that mean that it's 5 years instead of 10? Cause I've heard people debate both sides of it.

Yup. The 'perfect files' say five, while the English dub says ten. That's both sides. Or as I like to call them 'right' and 'why the hell are you listening to the dub?'

Bra's age will be a stumbling point. It depends which series you want to go by. Z says that Pan is older than Bra. GT says that Bra is older than Pan. In both cases, it's a 1 year difference and, I believe, it's Bra's birth year that shifts (meaning Pan's doesn't change). But yeah, Pan was 4 (almost 5, I'm guessing a nod to how Gohan was 4 1/2 at the start of Z) at the end of Z and Bra was 3.

I heard 10 years before the GT dub came out, possibly before they started to air the in house FUNi dub of Dragon Ball on Toonami, but I can't remember for sure.

Personally, in my own head, I have to say 10 years. Otherwise those guys in the Bebi saga are hitting on an eight year old. Pan can go either way, but Bra has to be a teenager.

Eh, in my opinion, the "5 years later" statement in the "Perfect Files" is flawed and incorrect. Mainly because the designs for Pan, Bra, and Uub look older than 9/10 (Pan/Bra) or 15 (Uub). Also, Trunks would still be in college or fresh out at 23, not making sky-high deals as President of Capsule Corp. like he might be at 28. I'm fairly certain every other legitimate source (yes, even FUNi) except for the Perfect Files indicates that 10 years have gone by. That's what I'm sticking with, mainly because it makes no sense for GT to take place so soon after Z's end from my point of view.

It's been around for a while, yeah, but that's for the same reason you just said. Bra throws everyone off. But see, even it it was 10 years, she's still only 13 years old. So really, it doesn't make any difference one way or the other.

13 and 8 can be significantly different depending on a variety of factors. In anime they usually aren't; in where I live they usually are.
But eh, maybe those guys had a serious lolita complex, hence Vegeta's reaction?

Though... I always thought Bra was slightly older? O.O *head asplode*

Daizenshuu #7 has a bit of a mix-up concerning Bra's age. In the timeline it says she's born in 780, but in her character bio later in the book it lists her birth year as 778. Soooo....based on her appearance in GT, I'd say she's supposed to be a year older than Pan and the timeline section is in error.

As for the time between Z and GT, I say it's five years because that's what the Perfect Files say and I've never seen any official source that says otherwise. Some of the characters might look a bit iffy for those ages, especially Bra, but if she weren't dressed like a total whore I think she could pass for 10

I mean, she doesn't have much physical development, and if she were supposed to be 15 you'd think she'd probably be on par with the "assets" Bulma had at 16

Pan, I think, looks more like 9 than 14 anyway. As for Uub, considering how Gohan looked at 16, I don't see why Uub can't be 15. And I'm sure Trunks could have easily graduated from college early and went right into working for Capsule Corp...it's not like he'd have to work his way up through the company, since his family owns the business.

Just to reclarify, I'm setting MY GT ten years later, so I'm not really concerned with the characters' states in the original GT.

So Pan and Marron are set, (14 and 22 respectively), but Bra is the troublemaker here.

So Bra's possibly younger than Pan?

Whoa. Good thing I am going with 10 years, otherwise there's no way she'd be dressing like I've designed her (heh, I can already see the "You're not going anywhere dressed like THAT" scenes with Vegeta).

If you mean the FanFiction, they already have.

Though I haven't featured Bra or Marron yet, Pan's already gotten a good amount of spotlight time, especially in the latest chapter.

I'd use an image search, but, you know, searching for "bra" won't give many DB-related results...

I was going to say they were blue but I didn't want to say for sure.

Yes I did.

Though whether it was for "bra" or "dbgt bra," I'll leave up to you to decide.

Anyhoo, I've been thinking of putting up my character design and concept sketches as Scraps on dA. Maybe I'll put a few up later this afternoon.
