Ladies, gentlemen, and Lauren Constantini. I have done some work on the exclusive DVD cover for cast only. Please give me your critique (good and bad especially)... :twisted:

(I've got a lot of work to do on this, but you've just got to tell me if I'm on the right track)

Stevey, I say, "awesome," except, I think we can do without the foul language.

Oh, and Maker777, I'm still waiting for those King Kai samples.

Just a question.

Why did you guys choose to do a dub of movie 3 over any of the other ones?

We held a poll, and this one won out, I guess mostly because of it's wide cast and sense of nostalgia from the old dubs.

Awesome poster - but can we get a bit more of a distinction between Telluce and Goku? Maybe get the shoulders in there a bit more?

It's hard to contrast them and make 'em look separate because when you combine their faces, they look EXACTLY alike. Their faces just merge... and so I had to put in a shadow over Tullece to show that he is the dark side of Goku. I can't really put the shoulders in there more, because there is no more image. I had to fade them to make the hard edges blend in- but there's really nothing more. :( I now realise that all TOEI did to design Tullece is draw Goku, but add a scouter, Saiyan armour and give him a darker skin tone. :?

EDIT:

Here we are. Is that okay?

Pretty bad-ass DVD cover-art, maybe the addition of listing "Extras" on the cover similar to FUNi would benefit? Kinda like a splash saying "Dragonbox footage - Fandub with R29 music, Fandub with original Japanese music, and Spanish subtitle option". Also, I'm kinda surprised you're focusing on this so early, Steven. We haven't even decided on the amount of DVD extras we'll include (though I PMed some suggestions to Kaboom), let alone start recording for the fandub.

Also, for future reference, I'd prefer my middle initial to be included in all uses of my full name. :wink:

Why is it that people are always misspelling my name? D:

It's spelled "Spradling", just so you know. I'm guessing (hoping) that you just made a small typing error. Thanks for not putting it on the DVD covers thus far, though. <.<; Also, I know Kirbopher's real name (considering how he's said it before at least once), but considering that that's something he might prefer to reveal instead of some other random person doing it for him, I think I'll just let him come forth on the forum and say what his name is instead...

Speaking of, I actually kind of like it. Except... what's that textured-greyish line going down the middle of it? I'm not quite sure I like it as a dividing line... maybe something a little more clean-cut or narrower (that goes about five or so more pixels to the right so it covers Tullece and Goku a little more equally)?

Also, I find it kinda funny how Tullece seems to have picked the ocean right off of southern Africa to land. :lol:

In addressing the banner... yes, the logo looks pretty nifty. I'll leave the lightening/darkening and size issues the banner may have alone (as people have already pointed them out) and just say that: 1) You should probably enlarge the actual logo on the banner and eliminate the "Protect" and "Destroy" lines on either side, and 2) Put "Light side" or similar on the bottom to oppose "Dark side", or if that's too cheesy or whatnot, maybe just say "Which side are you on?" or whatever. If neither of those work for the bottom of the banner, though, just say so and I'll try to think up something more impressive if you haven't already.

Yes, concerning the Tullece auditions... we're going to announce our final decision a little later today, once we've gotten on I'm and finished deciding. We'll let you know when we're done! :D

(Also, Kaboom, if you would, when Maker sends you his King Kai samples, could you let me take a listen to them as well?)

I PMed through my real name, but I guess since we're writing out charts I can put it here it's " Rebecca McCarthy"
Oh and I notice now I have scripting credits, I did say aaaaaaaaages I didn't mind helping or proofing, but since I've not seen the script and I'm guessing it's ready I don't need to be there. ( Haven't yet bought movie 3 XD either)

People, I've just done an INSANE amount of work on the DVD cover, and as a result, it's almost complete. All I need now is the rest of the cast's names, a comedic disclaimer saying that we don't own DBZ and all that junk (to go at the bottom in between the ratings), and someone to critique the blurb:

Image

When it's done, I'll give you guys a download link to get it in its full glory.

BLURB:

'Distant cries of anguish still linger amidst the ashes of Planet Vegeta, many years after Freeza's unmerciful act of genocide. The Saiyans were wiped out, with seemingly only four survivors (Nappa, Vegeta, Goku, and Raditz).

But there was another.

Deep in the eternal vastness of space, this survivor sets his sights for planet Earth. And he possesses something dangerous. Something reserved only for the Gods. And something that if in the wrong hands, can put even the entire Universe at risk.

Goku's decision to lead a life of love and fulfilment does not come without consequences, as the ghost of his inner demon- the primal, Saiyan instinct, dormant within him- approaches the unknowing and peace-loving Goku. His name is Tullece. And he bears astonishing resemblance to our hero.

Everything Goku has ever known- everything he has ever cared for- will be in dire risk, as Goku's greatest nemesis threatens to take his son's life and destroy all living matter on the planet... unless Goku and his son join him.'

Names thus far:

Omegacwa= Rob Harms
Kirbopher= Chris Niosi
Chuquita= Lauren Costantini
Mystic Jack= Jack O'Brien
Future Trunks=
Jwimz=
Maker777= Jamie Winter
Rory= Rory McHugo

Mr Announcer= Sasha Petersen
Eclipse= Jibril Yassin
Arcwave= Jesse Stipek
SSj Kaboom= Sean Gallagher
SSj Conan= Jerry S. Jewell
desirecampbell= Desiré Campbell

(Tell me if you're working on the project but your name's not here)

I understand it's a quote, but can you please remove any and all references to "Daizenshuu EX" and/or "DaizEX" (or anything to that effect) on any images or materials related to this? Thanks.

I don't have any ready for you at the moment, but I'll let you know if I think of anything you could use.

By the way, Steven, I just noticed something... Omegacwa's not on the list of names you're looking to use for the poster. At all. Considering he's playing Goku, he'd kinda need his name somewhere on there, wouldn't he? :shock:

Speaking of roles... well, unfortunately Rick, Kaboom, and I weren't able to get online together in the past two days long enough to make the final casting decision for Tullece. I'm so sorry! ;_; At the moment, we're having to stick with email and PMs, since we all seem to be busy this weekend (I know Rick and I are). I've sent my thoughts concerning the auditions we haven't decided on yet to Rick and Kaboom, though; now I'm just waiting for them to read them over and send me their own input, and then we can decide who's getting the part from there. We'll let you know what we decide... hopefully before Monday rolls around... hopefully... @_@;

Oh, and Steven, I forwarded your suggestions over to Kaboom to take into consideration. I hope you don't mind. ^^;

Now that that's addressed... I have a quandary. I believe you guys are setting up music from other sources (i.e. other soundtracks and such) to play during the movie, right? That's what I've gathered from previous submissions from Steven and the like, anyway...

If you guys are sticking to that, there's a certain (fan-remade) track from a game that I'd like one of you guys to take a look at. I personally really like it, and I can kinda (kinda! It's up to you guys to decide if it's actually good enough to use) see it being used in some part of the movie, probably during a fight scene. If it's okay to, do you mind me posting the track up for you guys to look at? And, you know, if you listen to it and find it won't work, just go ahead and say so... I'm just wanting to make a suggestion for its use... :oops:

Oh yeah, you're right! :oops: Well, it's true it's not on the 'Names Thus Far' list, but that doesn't mean his name's not in the posters- his name (Rob Harms) is in every one, including the front cover of the DVD. But, for the sake of completion, I'll put it up right now.

DEFINITELY! I encourage everybody working on the project to watch the Tree Of Might, memorize the scenes, and think about what sort of music would work well with whatever scene you're thinking about. Then, when you hear some music (whether it be on the radio, a movie, a TV advert- anything) ask yourself, 'would it work well with this scene?' That's what I've been doin'.

What on Earth happened to my name being on the cover? Was my middle initial too much room or something? Not that I'm being jealous or anything, but it was there originally and it irks me that you've taken it off. o_o

Also, to the best of my knowledge, we'll only be including a Spanish subtitle track, so it'd be wise to remove the English mentioning by the Subtitle area. Otherwise, awesome work on the DVD cover/back art. You've really done a very good job, Steven.
