Doing a search for for dragon ball manga on amazon, I noticed that they've got a good number of kanzenban volumes up there in the used/new section for some pretty decent prices ($12-$20).

Oh it's annoying. I could sort-of-easily afford these but then I think "do I really want dozens of books that I can't even read the contents of?" Then I consider that they're still one hell of a cool thing to have as a DB fan... Then I think that I can't even read them...etc, etc, etc. That is a very good price though. Manga volumes generally cost the equivalent of about $16 to $18 over here, regardless of how good/collectible the contents are, so considering just how good and collectible the contents are in this case...

Do you have any idea how much I wish I could get shit from Amazon.com? First the Ranma DVD rereleases are half the price on Amazon.ca, now you Yankees get kanzenban?!

Eh, that's kinda bloated, plus it's not that Amazon is selling them. It's private sales *via* Amazon. Personally, I bought all mine back in 2004 via the Amazon.co.jp site and I think I spent $350-400 for all the volumes with express shipping. It was $379.42 (just pulled my history from Amazon), so that's $11.12 a volume including the express shipping. Brand new.
The links posted here are private sales (i.e. - They might be busted up copies) for more than that.

Seeing this things just lights my rage up about the Kanzenban being cancelled around here >_>.
This ones in the sell are about the same price that our version (Just a bit more expensive)...
As for buying it, I don't think that it's a good thing to buy something that you can read just the title. It would be cool to have, but just this.

Yeah, I'm on the same page as you.
Either way, I love my Kanzenban. I was looking at them the other night, it's motivating me to be more serious about my Japanese studies. Beautiful books IMHO.
