DB Reference in "Avatar"
In the latest episode of Avatar: The Last Airbender, the protagonist, Aang, has a dream sequence where he looks a lot like well... DB's Goku, with an incredibly similar gi and hairstyle.
Here's a link to the scene (it's about 2:17 in).
I find it pretty interesting that American shows are still referencing the show after all this time out of the spotlight. I mean, it's not exactly "new hotness" anymore, is it?

Neat.
Boy, it's been a long time since I've watched any of this show. When / How did Aang get hair...?

I don't know - I mean, it's similar, but only as similar as other 'crazy huge anime hair' styles. And the gi itself is rather generic.
*shrug*
On another note, season 3 = Avatar's Boo saga: rushed, sloppy, and unfocused; but great fun anyway.

Meh, I agree with Onikage and Desire. I don't think that really resembles Goku at all and think it's just a send-up to Journey to the West in general. If anything, I'd say Aang's hairstyle is molded more after the male characters from Saint Seiya.
Jerseymilk: "Can I tell you something?"
B-kun: "What?"
Jerseymilk: "I see Fangirls."

Yeah, when I saw this episode, it never occurred to me that Aang looked like Goku. I might've been snickering too much from the emphasis on who's wearing pants. Now that I take a closer look, I can see how you'd get that impression (Especially with the peculiar and familiar angle at which his hair sticks up) and I wouldn't say that it isn't possible, but I personally wouldn't say I think they had Goku in mind.
There's a lot of Dragonball fans out there though, who knows!
He shaves his head again in the upcoming episode 'The Day of the Black Sun'.. Which you can find online if you look for it, thanks to our European friends airing the rest of the season early.

At the end of the second season, Aang is shot with a lightning blast by Azula. He's in a coma for a while, in which time the Fire Nation assumes he's killed. He later decides to keep the hair and wear a headband to hide his trademark arrow (In the aptly titled episode, 'The Headband'), so that he can better disguise himself while hiding in any Fire nation settlements.SSj Kaboom wrote:Neat.
