That was surprisingly good for a project film.

Still, The ending was a little weird.

And it's filled with people who are filled with shit
And the vermin of the world inhabit it."

That video has confused and raped my mind in every way.

I don't even know how to comment on it, it's just baffled me...

I really like the combo done in super speed and the struggle between the Kamehameha and Death Ball. That said, that was quite an achievement, considering that it's fan-made. The costume and hairstyle look really bizarre for some unknown reason. And yes, Freeza's grin at the end is sure to give me nightmares for many months (or years) to come.

It's somewhat entertaining, especially during the combat sequences. I though they were really well done for something fan-made. Let's just hope that the real live-action movie looks better.

I respect your opinion but could you do better? Do you personally know anyone who could do better? Are there any fan-made live-action Dragonball movies that are better that you can directly point me to? I'd love to see such awesome talent at work.

Being unable to do better does not negate one recognizing awfulness.

Sadly, this is probably going to be infinitely better than the live-action garbage Fox is spewing out (who I wish would lose the rights to the franchise already) because at least it's respectful to the original material in some way, as in I feel the live-action movie (however abundantly cringe-inducing the mere thought itself is), should 1) be CGI and 2) be done with Seiyuus (who know how to capture the terseness of range of emotion, and can sound regal but earnest at the same time... and, of course, who are in-character) and subtitles.

In regards to the video itself.... well, I won't mince words, in that I feel live-action Dragonball can never work and feels corny on a level that's ineffable. I'm not saying I can do better than this fan video, as it's good in notable ways, in my eyes (effects-wise nonwithstanding, visuals and SFX... the vivid colors work as a good, ominous moodsetter). I also feel the choice of using Cell's footstep SFX for Freeza in one particular moment was an offset one, but then again, it was recycled for Broli, with a vague variant of it used with Janemba, so them's the breaks.

Nevertheless, this is probably better than the live-action movie from Fox... that I, and many another, would rather not come out.

I love Dragonball enough i would not attempt such a travesty. It was awful and embarassing. But yeah I think with a little bit of money i could do something just as bad.

Posts like this bring me back hope in humanity...
Thank you LegendarySSJ7 for this post!

Also for those who think this is awful, I respect it, ok, but, they should at least respect the effort they spent on Goku's hair(which btw is at least better than chatwin's 9999 times) and Freeza's costume, and all those effects, if it looks awful ok, but it is a fanwork, they made a great effort, and I think they did awesome job consistent to their capabillities.
And the most important thing, it's a FAN MADE, it's not official, so it is not ruining DB name in any way...and yeah, I know, I know neither Fox's lam ruin DB's name for some of you, but for me it ruins my whole life...

SS7, there's a reason Mike closed the movie thread. Do we really need it spread to everything else vaguely live-action? ("Oh, wow, that Hironobu concert was amazing! Shame the live-action movie won't. lolololololol."

This movie was pretty good...They could've used the Goku costume's hair and just make it more realistic. Besides that I liked it, the ending was freaky as hell.

But B-kun! How ever will they spread the Word and the Truth about the evils of the live action movie if they don't whine about it in every barely tangential topic?

The word will be spread by seeing the movie, I have no doubt.

I like the Chinese bootleg movie, THANK YOU.

Anyway, as said, this was decent, but with some minor adjustments it could have been a lot better. I hated how everything was green screen. I mean come on, was there no open field available to film some of the fight scenes?

Also, The guys base Goku hair was really bad. I mean, if you can't get it close, don't bother, IMO.

Do I think I could do better, hmm... tough question. I think I could choreograph better fight scenes as I have both MMA and Pro Wrestling Training, but costumes and other stuff I wouldn't be able to do so well, well, I don't know. Plus unlike most fanboys, I lift weights and am pretty built, so I wouldn't look all scrawny, but, I still think these guys did a solid job. Slightly better editing I think would have made this 100% better.

There were times when the guys were just standing, like if they forgot there lines, I mean, just cut out the few seconds when you were standing not talking, and walah, it looks better instantly.

I'm sorry to say this, but it seems obvious at this point that being so good at recognizing "awfulness" hinders being able to see potential.

1) You love Dragonball enough? So, you're supposedly a bigger fan for not even caring to try or giving a more detailed critique?

2) Awful? Maybe. But at least we know that they can keep to the spirit of Dragonball and, given the money and resources, could put out a live-action movie that actually is Dragonball. I have yet to see that from anyone else who has made a fan movie.

I would not want to do a live action movie of such low quality it degraded the original. There is no real detailed critique I could do. Except Goku looked really bad. The super saiyan hair was terrible. It looked like he cut a piece of yellow cloth to make a bad hat.

Unless you had a massive budget any live action Dragonball is going to look bad. The Frieza shoot looked good. But everything else was bad.

I don't see how it degraded the original. It didn't even completely reenact anything from the original.
