Well I never really heard the Japanese Frieza attempting to become the next big comedian on Planet Namek though. (Where DOES he get his stuff?)Victator Supreme wrote:There is no significant difference in original and American Freeza's voice or character. Both actors voiced him as being foppish and overly polite as he does horrible acts. The American Freeza is a bit more feminine. But thats to be expected since he is voiced by a woman.

What? I- I... I just don't know what to say. Have you ever listened to them? Yes, Ryusei Nakao played him a bit feminine, but both Pauline Newstone (Ocean Group) and Linda Young (FUNimation) played him as a woman who "caresses balls" giggles.Victator Supreme wrote:There is no significant difference in original and American Freeza's voice or character.
(é) Yeah, I'm famous. Super famous. I start things.

I never heard him as a woman. Just a very foppish man. If I had to choose I would choose the original in a heartbeat. But I think his voice is better. BUt its more him being very good. Than a value judgment on Linda Young.
Only joke I heard him do was the one he made after he ripped off Nail's arm. Even that was done in a very polite condescending way. Nothing that would be out of character for Frieza.Well I never really heard the Japanese Freeza attempting to become the next big comedian on Planet Namek though. (Where DOES he get his stuff?)
There was quite another big one (but obviously only in the anime).Victator Supreme wrote:Only joke I heard him do was the one he made after he ripped off Nail's arm. You want out of character for Freeza? What about all the not-too-subtle homosexual innuendo that Funimation gave him?Victator Supreme wrote:Only joke I heard him do was the one he made after he ripped off Nail's arm. If he was a dog I'd rub his belly if he was a cat I'd give him warm milk but since he's neither of these things I'll just say FUCK YEAH.Rocketman wrote:Who wouldn't go gay for Goku's rippling pecs?FindKenshi wrote:You want out of character for Freeza? Now I don't know if I'm just not that perverted, but I found nothing wrong with that line.FindKenshi wrote:You want out of character for Freeza? No, you don't have to be a "real he-man", to stray away from homoerotica. I never said Japanese Freeza was butch. I just said he's not that thing Funimation and Ocean cursed us with.Rocketman wrote:So you're saying Freeza's a real he-man.
Seriously? So you consider that the kind of thing you'd say to another man? I mean, it comes off as just a little homoerotic. Especially when you hear Linda Young's delivery of the line. I mean, next time any dude asks you to do something, or whatever; answer with that line. "Ok, big guy. Whatever turns you on." See if you don't get a very weird look.Super Sonic wrote:Now I don't know if I'm just not that perverted, but I found nothing wrong with that line.Frieza wrote:Ok big guy, whatever turns you on.
Was a joke. "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe".FindKenshi wrote:No, you don't have to be a "real he-man", to stray away from homoerotica. I never said Japanese Freeza was butch. What's really a shame is that some of the stuff they came up with in the first three seasons would have been a perfect fit for some American superhero cartoons. Brian Drummond would have made, say, a perfect Carnage or Green Goblin, especially with lines like "Being a good fiend is like being a good photographer..." That's a perfect American supervillain line.
Instead, they get wasted on characters they don't fit.

Brian Drummond played Venom (and I believe Carnage) in Spider-man Unlimited.Thanos6 wrote:What's really a shame is that some of the stuff they came up with in the first three seasons would have been a perfect fit for some American superhero cartoons. There was a little post processing of his voice, but he did a great job.
Sweet. Too bad he got wasted in such a suck-ass cartoon, if only they'd gotten him for the cool 'regular' Spidey series beforehand.Captain Awesome wrote:Brian Drummond played Venom (and I believe Carnage) in Spider-man Unlimited.Thanos6 wrote:What's really a shame is that some of the stuff they came up with in the first three seasons would have been a perfect fit for some American superhero cartoons. I heard it was supposed to be a Spidey 2099 cartoon, but had to be changed late into production. It'd make sense, cuz there's a lot of similarities.Captain Awesome wrote: Tell me about it, I'm glad that show died, it was an atrocity.
