I still wish they would fix the layout on these sets, the composition is so awkward.

Oh well, I suppose I should stop being so critical, considering I own the relevant singles.

Majin Vegeta wouldn't be on Season 7. Season 7 will be the Cell Games at the rate we're going.

Anyway, if they changed the layout now, then the set would look awkward when put together.

Yeah but at least it would be consistent. I mean if they changed everything up now, it would look weird. What I did was take the jacket off and put them together so it makes that "Dragon Ball Z" logo. Looks a lot better. So it's orange, big deal. Dragon Balls are orange, I'm sure that's why they chose that particular color. The box art is pretty nice for all the sets too. The back, not so much. And once you open it up it looks pretty bad, but hey, with that "Dragon Ball Z" logo when you put them together, it looks decent. Nice and clean.

Heh, I just bought the "First Strike" set a few months back for like 20 bucks, and own most of the other movie singles. These would have to be god-like levels of awesome for me spend the same amount of money on 2/3rds of the "First Strike" box set, pretty tin or no. Ditto the rest of the movies (since I cn fill the few gaps in mycollection for roughly $5 a pop). Having english with japanese bgm would be cool for some movies (like 6 or 8), and for others it really wouldnt matter to me. Same thing with the TV specials one. I have the Trunks special already, and the Bardock one is currently going for 20-25 bucks online, so I figure I'll just get that rather than wind up with two copies of the Trunks special. It also kinda irked me the way they kinda push the Trunks special on ya first, when that makes no sense chronologically. I know you can watch them in whatever order you want, but where's the respect?
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

You kiddin' me? I already have the "First Strike" set too, but if the releases of the first two movies are done like the Bardock/Trunks set, then I'll snatch the Movie 1&2 pack up in an instant. Main reasons:

- Someone observed before that they seem to be giving better remastering treatment to the "movies" than the series, which must be on some sort of auto-pilot, and I agree. If the movies end up the same visually as Bardock/Trunks, then they'll look great.

- Widescreen is a non-issue with the movies.

- Believe it or not, Dead Zone and World's Strongest are VERY well-dubbed. The voice acting is good, and the script is spot-on, taken from Pioneer's old uncut releases. Meaning this 2-pack will be the first time so far where the Dub w/ JP BGM track will actually be worth watching. Bonus if UUC Dead Zone's Commentary Track is re-included.

- Sexy steel box 2-packs are sexy, and look and fit better on the shelf. :)

You're right. Season 5 will be the Imperfect Cell and Perfect Cell Sagas (I forgot that we're only up to 4 lol).

Season 6 will be the Cell Games (29 episodes).

Season 7 will be the Great Saiyaman and World Tournament Sagas (25 episodes).

Season 8 will be the Babidi and Majin Buu Sagas (34 episodes, I believe).

Season 9 will be... I don't know. Could just be the Fusion Saga. The Fusion Saga has 22 episodes, the Kid Buu Saga has 16 episodes. I doubt they'd give us 38 episodes... Then again they might... But I don't know. So in any event, Majin Vegeta would be in Season 8.

But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

While I haven't seen the re-dub of these movies, I find the voice acting thing extremely difficult to believe (with all due respect to SSjKaboom :) ).
Okay, maybe I was exaggerating a bit about the voice work (Garlic's VA does shine though, as do a few others). But I'm more concerned about the script anyway, which *IS* excellent.

Movie 3's redub script is total shite, though. Don't know why they didn't just use Pioneer's script for that one, too.

Well the Babidi saga, which features Majin Vegeta is only 12 episodes, so they could fit 37 episodes on Season 7 (I have Funi's old Babidi saga set and it's only 4 discs). The only reason why the Season set episode counts keep getting lower is because of they have to pick logical stopping points. Imagine how weird it would be if Season 4 ended well into the Imperfect Cell saga?

I understand that, but I think it will be 9 Seasons altogether. If you look at the picture on the spine (the DBZ logo), it's only gotten through the word "Dragon"We still need to fit "BALL", space/ and the giant "Z". I don't think that would be done in another 4 releases.

I know that. Season 8 will be the Majin Buu saga and part of the Fusion saga (it'll probably end at the episode where Gotenks defuses and Gohan returns to earth at the end, which is 27 episodes). Season 9 will be the rest of the series. (which is 28 episodes)

Season Six is gonna be the Cell Games though, and Otherworld Tornament, and Season Seven will be the second part of Z with the second opening and ending theme.

Actually, I'm inclined to believe that one of two things will happen, here:

A) The Afterlife Tournament will be pulled from Season Seven into Season Six, which at 29 shows has a somewhat low episode count. The climactic ending of the Cell Games, as well as that the last episode of the Afterlife Tournament segues into the present timeline of seven years later in a way that would make it both a strange cocktease and an illogical place to end Disc 6 in general, doesn't make this an exceptionally likely choice IMHO . . . but it is possible.

B) Season Seven will be released with the Saiyaman, World Tournament and Babidi arcs for a total of 38 episodes-- a fairly high episode count, given the last counts of 33, 32 and now 26 and 29 with the two upcoming seasons, but not at all unprecedented given that Season One was 39, as Kaboom said. This option feels very likely, especially given that Babidi will both serve as a cliffhanger for the next set and help to more easily distribute the remaining episodes onto the last two sets.

Just my thoughts, though.

Yeah but that last episode of the Other World Tournament has the beginning to the seven years later story, featuring a grown up Gohan and Goten (I believe).
