Yeah I used the Dragon Ball Online logo, and some of the picture quality differs and looks like shit, also the font for "SEASON ONE" is different to the actual one.
I'm gonna do the spines and back too later, only more jokey maybe...
actually, that looks really cool. Good luck!
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Those are awesome!! i'd like to get these if they're not widescreen... maybe trade for the widescreen Season sets 1 and 2 i have here at home - which i'm thinking of selling to anyone who actually wants them, and knows what they're getting but doesn't give a damn. condition is like new.

The DragonBall one's really good, TT. Leads me to wonder how the future GT Season Sets are going to be packaged.

Rushed it, and I'm pleased with it, when I was doing the white "extras" part I was gonna put stupid things there like "SHITTY TRANSFER AND A WIDESCREEN NO ONE WANTS" or "CHRIS SABAT IS HALF OF THE CAST" which I don't know as a fact.
Note the Recycle Bin.
I actually would have put all of the little details if I had the time, I might do that for another set, or maybe edit it since I still have the PSD file.

Added on:
I made this one just now, because it's something that I wanted to come out as soon as Season 2 came out.

If anyone has a nice cleanly scanned high res version of an orange brick, don't hesitate to give me it, I need a cleaner Dragonball Z logo that wasn't found on Google images.

All these custom covers are awesome. But When I make my own I can never get it to print the right size. Maybe it's my printer...

If they do a movie collection, they don't need to be orange. Those bricks are an eyesore compared to my other anime DVDs.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

If they do a movie collection, it will probably be the same style as the steel boxes.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Quick mock up of kanzenban covers, just as an exmample: the first DBZ disc(s):

And if you're doing all of DB too, might as well keep the numbers:

The steel boxes weren't out when I thought of that damnit.
And the Orange Brick design is suhweeeeet. But the boxes themselves make me vomit in rage. I would have loved it if they were a sturdier card and if the outer boxes was made from the hard stuff that thinpacks always come out in, what is that? Or even a Keep case one would have been nice, with a card sleeve similar to the ones we really have, only vertical.

Many bonus points for "Widescreen transfer that nobody likes"! XD

Other than that, awesome box set design... We can only hop these get released!

For some reason, Dragonball always ALWAYS has to be flawed for the US releases.

I'm curious now, did I miss an announcement that they're releasing Dragonball in bricks too? Or was that a hypothetical cover?

People have emailed Zstore about where all the Dragon Ball DVDs went, and their response has apparently been "we stopped printing them because we're going to make season sets."

Has that thing with the first 13 episodes of DragonBall even been resolved yet?

I hope that at the pace they're going through Z, and with the assumption that GT will be after Z, that they will have that issue resolved by then. I mean honestly, its the only part of Dragon Ball they havent released uncut on DVD yet so it could be a good marketing tool.

DRAGON BALL LIKE YOU'VE NEVER SEEN IT BEFORE! Now in WIDESCREEN SUCKINESS but also Goku's penis and more fart jokes!

Okay on second thought maybe that's not such a good marketing tool...

In all honesty, making comments like 'Chris Sabat is half the cast' or 'In widescreen suckiness' makes it hard to take people serious. While many of these covers are nice--espicially the Dragonball cover--such comments are unprofessional and lack grace.

As for the 'orange boxes are eyesores', I'd have to disagree. At least FUNimation had the idea to wit to color them the color of the title mystical items.
