I like the idea of a different color for each set. Though, I think your last one was better. This one seems very plain. But then again, if your last one wasn't as amazing as it was, I'd say this one absolutely rocks.
Hey, think you can help someone who absolutely sucks at Photoshop? Like over PM or something? I really need tips, I just started a couple of weeks ago and haven't practiced much. Thing is, it never comes out the way I want it to and I just give up. I know the basics, but I don't know how you make it look so good. And with the magic wand, it always makes the cut outs look all rigid as if I did it in Paint.

So, what are you saying exactly? Are people only allowed to have negative opinions if they're experts, or what? Is the average person only allowed to say nice things (sup Stalin)? And doesn't that in turn make you a hypocrite for insulting Desire's work?TheGreatness25 wrote:Hey you're the one that said it looks bad.
I just don't understand why everyone is getting so defensive about things that aren't even theirs. Steven Perry doesn't care, so why should the rest of you?

Well of course I didn't mean it like that. I just meant the glorification-only mentality reminds me of dictators like him with their personality cults.Rocketman wrote:Brutally murdering 20 million civilians = being mean to someone on an internet message board.TripleRach wrote:Is the average person only allowed to say nice things (sup Stalin)?

I like this one much more than the other, actually. The silhouettes are nice, and actually work better with the busy background.Steven Perry wrote:I know that some of you don't like the Ultimate Uncut style, but I'll still try and do all 9 sets. I've started on one for the Majin Buu era:

Each cover is going to be of a different colour theme. What do you think...?
I actually really like the idea of using this design for all the sagas, just change the colour and silhouettes (different characters for each saga, as appropriate).
Could you throw up your PSD for this one? I'd love to take a stab it.

Well, at least he's leaving his old posts unedited, so that everyone else can read them and see that's he's a hypocrite. I mean, I've seen other guys on the forum rewrite their posts to look less foolish.TripleRach wrote:Well of course I didn't mean it like that. Either way, he's failed completely at making any point at all. As long as he shuts up about it I won't ridicule him (but I'm fully prepared to do so, if need be).
(é) Yeah, I'm famous. Super famous. I start things.

Sure thing. Be warned, though- this is a massive file. You could actually make a giant poster out of this. Hmmmm.... that's not a bad idea.desirecampbell wrote:I like this one much more than the other, actually. I'm glad to help! Don't look at me as some sort of 'Photoshop Guru' or anything, though; I'm really only an intermediate (but of course, I'll be producing masterpieces in no time, like the ones you see on DeviantArtThe Greatness wrote:Hey, think you can help someone who absolutely sucks at Photoshop? Wow, that is really really really good. However, I'd suggest a different color scheme for that saga. Don't ask me which though!Steven Perry wrote:I know that some of you don't like the Ultimate Uncut style, but I'll still try and do all 9 sets.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Pink, maybe, but it'd be pretty awkward looking. Maybe Gold or something.bkev wrote:Wow, that is really relaly really good. However, I'd suggest a different color scheme for that saga. Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Well if it wouldn't be too much trouble, do you think you can PM me about how you made your two covers? Like what pictures you used and how you matched up the colors so fluently and stuff? It would really be awesome.Steven Perry wrote:

It looks pretty damn sweet. I like the gritty nature of it, and how the glowing kame symbol compliments the silhouettes. Of course I'm thrilled there's more than sayiajin up there too ^^Steven Perry wrote:I know that some of you don't like the Ultimate Uncut style, but I'll still try and do all 9 sets. If I'm giving crit though, it doesn't seem to quite mesh with the other cover. If you mix up between different kinds of figures on the covers of the other sets, the weird contrast between full detail/silhouette change and close-up cropped/full figure should even out. The other note would be that the actual dbz logo seems smaller on this than the sayiajin one, but that might be because the images themselves are slightly different sizes.

Well, you know what they say, 'you can't please everybody'.desirecampbell wrote:And TheGreatness25, I put up the kanzenban style covers because I think they're awesome. They have a clean, understated look (which is the complete opposite of Steven's design) which I enjoy more.
But wait... why not?
So, here's my attempt at a Dragonball Z cover done in the way which you speak- Dragonball's 'true' look:
(on the left)

Is this the sort of thing you're talking about, Desire?
I'll be finishing off the Ultimate Uncut Season one soon, but this new one needs people's opinion...

They're both really great. But I seem to like the first one better. It seems to match the theme of Dragon Ball Z more.Steven Perry wrote:Well, you know what they say, 'you can't please everybody'.desirecampbell wrote:And TheGreatness25, I put up the kanzenban style covers because I think they're awesome. Well here's a fake and I mean fake one I made. But I had fun making it.
Death Note fans might notice something that I snuck in there:

There are things in there that clearly make it fake, but as I said before I had fun making it even though it looks like crap.
I was planning on putting Vegetto, Gotenks and Majin Vegeta but all the images, either didn't fit or were to messy for me to clean up.
