Funimation Youtube channel

@ANN

Apparently, Funi's going to put up both new and old anime episodes on Youtube... once a week, and each one up only for a limited time, and almost certainly dub-only.

The fact that they have a DBZ commercial as the first video on their web-page makes me think that they plan to show more of the show.

I bet you won't be able to view them if you aren't in America though, I noticed lots of youtube channels that do stuff like this do that.
I finally bought a gamecube. To bad they don't make any games for it now.

I've heard about this.

If they do start posting OP episodes, I'll watch them.
On hiatus.

They posted the beginning of the 8th OP movie.

I'd laugh if Toei had it deleted. :lol:

As a part of the license, they have digital distribution rights. Funi has had this channel up for months now, so this really isn't a big deal.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Evidently FUNi's had my YouTube account suspended over a 4 minute DBZ clip I uploaded over a year ago, some of you might know it as "Goku's Hellish Nightmare". It's a dub clip from the Android saga, when Goku dreams of 17 and 18 finding him at his house and killing Chichi, Trunks, etc. Their reasons were apparently copyright infringement, according to the email I received. Yeah, a 4 minute clip that I wasn't making any money off, nor available for downloading, yet get my account suspended over. They're being real bastards. If they're this anal-retentive, wouldn't surprise me if they went after TeamFourStar's Abridged series next, as well as various other uploads that aren't anywhere near full episodes. :roll:

But you know what you're doing when you put it up. You click the check-box that says you own the copyright to what you're putting up, despite the fact that you don't. You have absolutely zero recourse. Same goes for me, same goes for TFS, same goes for everyone else uploading material that they don't actually own.

Don't give them ideas Conan. We don't know who lurks this board. Anyway, I've seen quite a few videos pulled by FUNi; I believe Gozar's Alternate Reality has had that problem in the past?

Anywya, did they specifically mention FUNi? I know that Youtube randomly pulls "copyrighted" videos.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
I hear ya'. Still, just upsets me that they take the time to get accounts suspended over little crap like this. They can do better things with their time like report the accounts with full episodes/movies. I realize I'm pretty much bitching and I'll get over this, sorry if dredging it here is unnecessary.

It specifically says in the email that FUNimation reported me. Who else is gonna make a complaint like this over a 4 minute dub clip of DBZ? :P

If Funimation goes WWE style, expect quite a few accounts to be gone. {For those who don't know, the WWE is absolutely ruthless when it comes to their copyrighted videos on Youtube.}

Toei, maybe? It could happen. I've put up a fandub of Death Note, and oddly it wasn't even the English companies, it was all of the Japanese companies. Plus, the clip was only 2:51.

I pretty much got this message:

This video has been removed due to a copyright claim by: NTV, DREAM PARTNERS, VAP Inc., Shueisha, Inc. and Mad House, Inc.

All of those companies are the Japanese companies.

I'm not saying it was wrong of them to pull the video down, it's just; why go after a small fandub instead of going for the FULL EPISODES, Dubbed or Subbed.

So now in my fandubs and small clips from actual episodes, I put a disclaimer saying who [Insert Show Name Here] belongs to and who owns the copyrights, and I haven't had a video pulled since.

Well FUNimation took off Gozar`s Alternate Reality series but allowed him to re-post the videos putting this statement in the video summary:

I DO NOT OWN DRAGONBALL. DragonBall is Owned by TOEI ANIMATION, Ltd. and Licensed by FUNimation Productions, Ltd.. All Rights Reserved. DragonBall, DragonBall Z, DragonBall GT and all logos, character names and distinctive likenesses thereof are trademarks of TOEI ANIMATION, Ltd.

This is nothing more than a Fan Video made for entertainment purposes only.

So I guess if you want to post a Dragon Ball video without getting it taken off, put this in the video summary.
