You can define Goku (or any other character) as a hero, or not, depending on what you value most, the driving intentions behind his actions (regardless of end result) vs the end result of his actions (regardless of driving intention).
Dragon Ball was always a kid series and fans should stop being in denial.

Interesting, the image song from the first collection. Apparently the lyricist for that was Yukinojo Mori (CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA, came up with the name too). It's quite impressive how involved they can be with the material.Cure Dragon 255 wrote: Thu Jun 13, 2024 12:50 pm Hironobu Kagayama's Aitsu Wa Son Goku (That Guy Is Son Goku) goes "Son GOKU OMAE KOZO GA HERO" which means "YOU ARE A HERO SON GOKU" and its hard to disagree with Kageyama-san.
Kageyama does write impressive series-related lyrics as well but it turns out that for all of his time on DB it was usually someone else in charge of that area.
As far as the hero thing, there was even a song in Final Bout that was just named "Hero of Heroes" (sung by Kageyama, presumably for Goku of course). That one was Yuriko Mori (Makafushigi Adventure).
It seems they might align more with Toei than Toriyama on what to portray the series and characters as?

Yes, I consider Goku a hero; a flawed hero but still a hero. And I am annoyed by how DB Super gave his actions bad consequences.
"Don't take pleasure in destruction!" / "I will not let you destroy my world!"
A true hero goes beyond not the limits of power, but the limits that divide countries and people.
