The Moro arc is rumored for Fall 2027, which gives these remasters roughly 52 episodes to work with before Moro starts. I expect Broly will just be a TV-edit of the movie, so that's roughly 5 episodes.Hugo Boss wrote: Sun Jan 25, 2026 10:25 amRightfully not, but I’m trying to figure it out based on Beerus’ new episode count of 6 episodes. I’ve seen comments of Golden Freeza being 6 episodes as well. So, let’s say, for example, an episode total count of 60 until Galactic Patrol, then perhaps not before a year or so. Just a little fun speculation.

I imagine that the remastered series will run for a year, given Ajay's inside info that The Galactic Patrol is being aimed for release at the end of 2027.Hugo Boss wrote: Sun Jan 25, 2026 10:25 amRightfully not, but I’m trying to figure it out based on Beerus’ new episode count of 6 episodes. I know fans of the V-Jump manga never cared about Toyotaro and always just touted Toriyama's involvement but it is strange to see this done officially. It is somewhat similar to the DBS Broly movie where there was no shoutout to Koyama for creating Broly and Paragus. Same thing with the Age 1000 game. They are just using Toriyama's name as a brand of authenticity and quality which is very disheartening but not at all unexpected.

It's a bit weird to the man, having his name become some sort of "brand" in itself...
But I suspect he did work on these at least to some extent.

The have Phil on call to voice his other characters. They're pretty good about getting the older VAs back as long as they're available unless they wanna go another direction.mecha3000 wrote: Sun Jan 25, 2026 5:26 am I just realized this also means we'll get to see Daikaioh in action for this arc and with a voice actor. I wonder who they'll choose. For the dub, will they bring back Phil Parsons, let Josh Martin be the voice, or get a new voice entirely? I'm betting on the latter.
1. Yes.FiReFTW wrote: Sun Jan 25, 2026 8:16 am Well a bit confussed.
1.Are they going to do the super anime continuation from the manga? Or JUST the Moro arc and nothing more?
2.When can we expect the anime to start airing?
2. Either later this year or next year depending on what you're talking about.
Only dubs that matter are DB, Kai, & Super. Nothing else.

I'm more excited for the prospect of what this announcement represents, more so than the announcement itself. Wasn't a big fan of the Moro arc overall, and Granola is just miserable in my opinion, so not too thrilled about that. BUT this is honestly the dream in terms of seemingly making Dragon Ball a seasonal show rather than forcing it to be long running, which will likely crumble under the weight of such a consistently demanding schedule. My hope is that this is how Dragon Ball is handled forever going forward. Seasonal 20-25 episode arcs with large production windows, released one at a time. So even though I'm not exactly thrilled about seeing Moro specifically, I can at least rest easy knowing that it seems they'll be going forward with more stories in this format.

I was wondering if the Kaioken and Blue Evolution from the anime will show up in this arc. We know it's a sequel to the 2015-2018 anime, but to what extent will they link the two?
I think it's very likely that the Blue Kaioken will return. I imagine Goku using it against Moro on Namek, since he won't yet have access to Ultra Instinct.
As for Blue Evolution, I hope they use the manga design or a mix of the manga and anime designs. Toyotaro's version always appealed to me more.

There is a scene in the Moro arc where Goku and Vegeta start dropping out of their transformations as Moro absorbs their energy. Goku drops from SsjG to Ssj3, while Vegeta goes from SsjG to Ssj2. Now that Daima gave Vegeta Ssj3, I wonder if they'll include it in that scene, as he did technically achieve the form before going to the demon realm, unlike Goku who had Ssj4 unlocked for him by Neva.
I really hope the tone down the aura on Blue Evolution, as that thing was blinding during the tournament.BernardoCairo wrote: Sun Jan 25, 2026 8:16 pm I was wondering if the Kaioken and Blue Evolution from the anime will show up in this arc. Y'know, I'll just say it. Just add Videl, Goten, and Trunks to the big fight in the Galactic Patrol arc. Why not?! The anime doesn't have to be a 1:1 with the manga. If Yamcha, Tenshinhan, and Chiaotzu (from what I remember) made the cut, then why not throw a bone for Kara Edwards and Alexis Tipton? I know I'm speaking of the dub actors specifically, but regardless, why not add those three in? Especially when 17 and 18 also play a role in the Moro arc. On that note, looking forward to more 17 fighting with the good guys and hearing Chuck Huber again.
And from what I remember reading in the Moro arc and what I've heard recently, the Galactic Patrol arc is the most DBZ-like arc that Dragon Ball has had in a while. I think that alone will bring a lot of people on board with it, specifically fans who grew up with DBZ back in the day on Toonami in the west and never got behind Super. I also wonder if this new Super will air on Toonami since Daima did. But who cares? We're in the age of streaming now, baby!

It absolutely is, and so far it's the best arc Super has put out. The Granola arc was pretty much one big fight, which is perfect for an anime adaption with the movements, special effects, music, etc... I think Dragon Ball is going to be trending regularly once these arcs start airing, as it's pretty much one hype moment after another. If people thought Goku and Vegeta were generating hype in Daima, just wait until the likes of Ultra Ego and Controlled Ultra Instinct make their animated debut.mecha3000 wrote: Mon Jan 26, 2026 2:56 amAnd from what I remember reading in the Moro arc and what I've heard recently, the Galactic Patrol arc is the most DBZ-like arc that Dragon Ball has had in a while.

Man, the moment when Vegeta tells Granolah "You're only the strongest currently, but that can easily change" and then transforms into Ultra Ego will be as they say, a generational moment. And Chris Sabat said he's looking forward to saying the line "Unlike Kakarot, I'm ALL EGO." Or whatever the line was. I'm so ready for that. The Dark Knight wrote: Mon Jan 26, 2026 3:03 amIt absolutely is, and so far it's the best arc Super has put out. It was funny, Sean Schemmel was streaming the broadcast on Twitch, and when the new series was announced he was so excited his voice hit notes I’m pretty sure were only audible to dogs. When the Goku costume actor came out and Nozawa left, he started kind of dubbing Goku live, responding to what the actor did. It was funny.
It’s too bad he signed off before they announcement of the Beerus mini series, he missed a chance to be the guy to wake up Jason Douglas with the biggest news he may get this year.
…. I forget what I was talking about.

I feel like the Moro arc will be coming in late 2028 at earliest if they're really remaking all of Super. Granolah probably won't be until 203X at this rate though.. the VAs will be much older than they are now too.
I really wish they got to work on these in secret during the long break after Super, but it seems that the production started only recently for some reason (most likely legal ones, such as getting the rights to adapt it)

Don't think we'll need to wait till late 2028, late 2027 certainly.Xeogran wrote: Mon Jan 26, 2026 7:53 am I feel like the Moro arc will be coming in late 2028 at earliest if they're really remaking all of Super. The Beerus and Golden Freeza arcs should be done before the end of this year if they're 6 episodes each, if the former starts early September we may even move on to the Universe 6 tournament before 2027.
10-12 episodes each for Universe 6 and Goku Black, then maybe 20(ish) for the Universal Survival arc will take up most of 2027 but still leave some time for Moro later that year, or early 2028 at the latest.

Is it normal to announce something that will be starting in basically two years? I know the announcement also was about DBS being remastered or whatever, but that doesn't have a date either. Is it normal to announce things with no dates at all?
I get this vibe, since they had us wait for so long, that they just wanted to announce it, announce something, to give us something to look forward to... no matter how long it'll take. It really feels like this project is in its very, very early stages. Without the almost decade-long hiatus, I’d believe this announcement would’ve come out just a few months before the debut. And jumping straight to the "new" material, too.
About how SSBE and SSBKK, it'll probably depend on how they do the Black arc. If it's more faithful to the manga, with the God-Switch and CSSB thing, then probably Kaioken will appear as it did in the manga, a one-off thing, and be gone.
If not, if it's just the anime but looking better, then I bet SSBKK will fail as it usually does, on Namek vs Moro, and disappear for good because there will be no other situations for Kaioken to be used. Goku uses the regular, non-chalant SSB vs Saganbo, and then vs Granola he uses UI + SSB.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol" (20??) Discussion Thread
Yeah, a lot of modern anime tend to announce that some thing is in production without having a release date announced. The industry is really weird that way and the over-production of projects does not make it any easier to decide when a project is going to be ready to be released. They really should just wait until they actually have an idea of when the series will definitively come out but...well, they don't lolKoitsukai wrote: Mon Jan 26, 2026 12:26 pm Is it normal to announce something that will be starting in basically two years? Reasons to stay alive despite the tough circumstances in the world right now:
2uper coming back in 2027.
TES VI possibly as early as 2027.
It's something further down the horizon to look forward to for once.

Re: "Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol" (20??) Discussion Thread
There has been a lot of negativity surrounding Dragon Ball over the past half decade, specifically with how it's being handled by the various parties involved with it. Since 2018, we got a CGI movie that was basically a side story, then two years later we got a standalone story in Daima. That's such a far cry from the hype generating stories we got in 2018 with the conclusion of the Tournament of Power and Broly movie. On the surface, it may have looked like they just announced the Moro arc, but in reality, what they really announced was a long term plan and commitment to the franchise. Starting this year and going into 2030, we're going to have high quality main content Dragon Ball material every year. At first glance, the Super remake may just look like a way to buy time for the main team working on Moro behind the scenes, but in reality, it's them understanding how bad they messed up the first time, and how important it is to have a solid foundation to build the future on. What we got a couple days ago weren't just simple announcements, they were an acknowledgement that the people in power have learned from their mistakes and are correcting each and every one of them.Koitsukai wrote: Mon Jan 26, 2026 12:26 pmIs it normal to announce something that will be starting in basically two years? Fans have incorrectly assumed that this is being done in order to milk Toriyama's name as a result of his death, but what's not being talked about is that they actually said these projects were being worked on with Toriyama while he was still alive. This shows that the people in charge finally understand that a rushed job like GT and Super 1.0 just won't cut it in this day and age, and that long-term planning is what a franchise as big and beloved as Dragon Ball deserves. By the time the Beerus arc starts airing, this new era of Super will have been planned out for 3-4 years. Fans are also incorrectly assuming the the manga won't be coming back, but based on what's going on with the anime, I can confidently say that the reason its return hasn't been announced is because the people behind the scenes are simply not ready yet. The days of rushed announcements to meet a quota are long behind us, so the manga will be announced when the next 5 or so years are properly planned out and everyone is confident in its ability to succeed.
