I mean it's not really a waste as it's DLC

Only thing I can think of is when 17 killed Krillin before fusing with an energy blast

Wasn’t regular 17 the one who did that?

Some people on social media are saying we'll be able to select #17 twice (like how cell jrs can be selected 5 times) and fuse them, rather than a completely new 17 being added; it'll just be another outfit.

Awesome, that actually makes sense. 17 in GT was basically the Z character and hell fighter his clone, somewhat created in hell from nothing with biomutant technology…
Costume with fusion option is cool.

What I understand is Hell 17 is a character, but so would be Super 17 because every character is playable and not just accessible through fusion mid-fight. I think it's just probably to help with the DPs, but we'll see.

Also, if they are giving a slot to a nothing character like Hell 17, then I'm thinking, eventually, more important GT characters, that are usually snubbed like Rildo or the base saiyans will join the game.

Is it impossible to have Dramatic Finishes for certain characters? For example, having Perfect Cell lose limbs (and regrow them later) after taking Gohan’s KHH or Goku’s Instant KHH.
I’d love for Buu to get destroyed by beam attacks and then regenerate himself afterward, even if it doesn’t restore his health, just for visual effect would be enough.

What I mean is: attacks that were originally meant for a specific character in the show could have unique animations when used against that same character in the game, instead of always playing the generic version.

I think that might be a bit over the top... but I did like the dual attacks in Raging Blast, like having Goku and Piccolo from early Z goes into the Goku using nelson grab on opponent and Piccolo shooting Makkankosappo... that's probably what we are getting with Goku and Vegeta doing that double ki-blast attack from Broly movie and I wonder, if there will be more dual options with other characters.

Doing specific animation, in an extent like that, Vegeta's Final Flash resulting in blasting half the Cell off and then having him regrow limbs, is quite a lot of work for such a niche occurence. It made more sense in FighterZ, where the roster was limited and everything painstakingly custom made – with limited content, they found other ways to make unconventional pay offs. Sparking! is the king of universal solutions for huge roster.

I don't mind, unless it really will be a waste in the context of the whole DLC. There is so much missing that they can only add things... like, the expectations now are, that the DLC is a huge payoff for the halfassed coregame sans the subsequent DLC, rectifying all the missing things (characters, costumes, accessories, stages), as the DLCs except for the Super Hero one that was missing RR stage anyway, were already quite lackluster... In that sense, I don't mind for getting Hell Fighter, but at the same time, the DLC shouldn't feel half assed or pull the a-hole trigger and separate what we saw in the trailer for more paid DLC waves.

They really put themselves in a shitty position of how not to do things and delivered less than the other games of this era, that actually delivered beyond initial expectations, as SZ on launch wasn't even on par in the mid category.
