Yeah, but if you go down that road, it doesn't make any sense for aliens to look just like monkey-tailed Earth people. So should Goku's normal form be redesigned to look more alien as well?

See, I don't see that to be too important. You know why? Akira Toriyama never made a big deal about others being faithful. I mean, GT wasn't exactly a faithful sequel...

And neither was the movies....
At least the character's were still themselves. You can't just change everything, name the main character Goku, slap the DragonBall logo on it and call it DragonBall.
Watch the movie before you say such bold statements.

It's fine to dislike what you see (but keep in mind this isn't what the finished product will look like), but it's not fine in my mind to make such claims like "everything is unfaithful" when you don't know.
If challenge had a taste, you'd be quite delicious.

I've seen enough to make a fairly accurate assumption.

In some strange mentality, for some odd reason this creature gives off a much more masculine Goku 'vibe' as opposed to Chatwin :? . Thought I'd just throw that out there. In any case, changes like this are more than welcome imo, it's a 're-imagining' in a much more fitting sense. It's difficult to explain, but in any case, feel free to disagree!

But the thing is, you haven't...

In fact, I've been following this movie for a long time, and I JUST found out a few major details about it that I never expected to be in the movie.

*Disagrees* :P

I'm reminded of that Japanese (or maybe Chinese?) Live Action Video made by some fans. It was an alternate re-telling of Goku Vs.Freeza. I just look at that and see how good some random fans did. This is Hollywood damn it. It could be so much better.

Right when you think the movie couldn’t get any further removed from what it’s supposed to be it goes and jumps the fucking shark. This is ridiculous. And by that I mean, Dennis Hopper Koopa ridiculous. If you are actually defending this decision, I’m simply lost on words for you. I think my best bet at this point is to treat the movie like a bad parody; I simply won’t be able to watch it without laughing.

Forget I said anything.

The point is, it's fine to dislike what you see, but try not to dislike what you haven't seen (like the movie).

JAPPO like to keep us in suspense to inflate his ego. It apparently goes over really well on his other forum.

Dragonball isn't supposed to be plausible science fiction, it's a martial arts fantasy piece, the Saiya-jin are barbaric space monkeys if what you say is true, all Fox are doing is once again displaying their complete and utter lack of understanding when it comes to the franchise.

It isn't their job to tell us what they think is "realistic" or not, it's their job to adapt the series into a film, not make a bunch of moronic changes because they think they know better. I'm still going to see this movie, because I don't think that even Fox are dumb enough to turn Goku into a super space axolotl.

Don't be a dork. Just say it. =/

I'm sick of people telling me to wait and see...Every time people defend something in this movie something worse surfaces.

Which Forum?

I think this is it? : http://dragonballmovieforum.com/

Either way, this version of Oozaru is seriously depressing in its complete and utter lack of disregard for the original.

Please, PLEASE let the finished version have fur.
On hiatus.

But hey, I'm not even a fan of this picture myself. I agree that being more faithful couldn't hurt, but at the same time I'm very interested to see how they pull this off and how they will explain it.

I'm not a purist, just someone who is open to new interpretations of the series. Could suck, could even be better.

I can't wait until this film comes out.

Because we wont have to listen to your self important bluster anymore, we don't care about your blog, and we don't care about how important it makes you feel.

On the website in the link in JAPPO'S signature I read that the movie will premiere in Japan 1 month before the US...Is that true? That's not fair O_o

Though is there any word on who will be doing the Japanese Dub of it? Any chance of Nozawa and co. doing it? XD
