I'm just as on the fence as before, and I find it odd to see people hopping to and fro across the thing.

Still, interesting. Nothing in screamed to me that the movie was going to be good or bad, though. Nice to see movie Piccolo goes green I guess, I could have lived with greenish-yellow.

1) I think that instead of "Evolution" the movie's subtitle should've been "Filler" because that's what this whole "seven mystics created the Dragonballs" thing feels like.

2) "I'm not ready for this." Geez...

3) Piccolo is an ultra-badass. They did really well with him. And he's green, too!

4) Glad they made use of capsules, but I would've preferred the classic "POOF!" kind of thing.

5) Why is Goku being all nonchalant and such? Even at the worst points in the FUNi dub Goku still had a wide vocal range and expressed a lot of Goku's signature personality quirks. I know it isn't much to go off of, but this is the freakin' trailer! Is this how Goku is during the whole movie? If not, represent him a bit more truthfully!

6) One-handed Kamehameha? Not a big deal to me, but what's wrong with the way it's always been done?

7) Gohan, at the end, is also badass.

8) I haven't seen anything yet in-motion that gives me the feeling that this poster gave me. Show me more of this and I'll change my tune without hesitation.

EDIT: My mistake. Goku training with Gohan was all bright and colorful like that poster. I like it. I want more of it.

9) I wonder if the bo is the Noyibo or if it's just a nod to the Noyibo...

*yawn*

Christ this is unconvincing. Now that we have some more plot points, it looks even worse than we'd thought.

The special effects look half decent? Wow! Looks like it's every feature film ever made. That's super impressive, and exactly what Dragon Ball is all about - looking fantastic.

Oh, and there're capsules? Kind of? But the vehicle just looks like an ATV with some extra lights? And no 'poof'?

And, honestly, that's the most positive thing I can say about the trailer. On the other hand, Piccolo's voice sounds terrible, "seven mystics created the Dragon Balls", Chatwin can't form any kind of emotion (even that kamehameha sounded lazy), what's with the eclipse? we need the eclipse to use the Dragon Balls? shit. Goku "isn't ready yet"?! fuck. "You're the onry one who can do this"? fuck!

I thought this was going to be a lot like the 'Lord Slug', but it's starting to remind me of 'Garlic Jr' now (with the 'revenge' bit). And there's a little 'Telluce' in there too (if we still get the earlier reported 'join me Goku' stuff). Is that the plan? Combine a bunch of movie plots and hope it's not terrible? Fuck!

I think it's a lot better than the "trailer" they showed back in October and it's better than I thought it would be (just average I guess) but it would have been a lot better if they stuck closer to the source material. Also I agree with Desire about Chatwin. He just sounds all "Yeah...sure...whatever...Dragon Balls...Let's find em together." Just totally unenthusiastic. Then you have Jamie Chung (Chi-Chi) with that terribly acted "Who are you!!?" Where's Yamcha at? They keep giving this guy the shaft! Marsters seems cool, Gohan seems cool, and Bulma might be cool. I don't know about everyone else...

That's why I hope Gohan does die in the film early by Mai(as shown in the trailer whom he's about to fight with) or possibly some other minion. That way, Goku's lack of enthusiasm in the film itself can be understandable based on still mourning for the loss of his grandfather and totally hide the fact that Chatwin's literally not preforming the way he should be.

Well as expected, this looks like a pretty entertaining magical martial arts movie that has pretty much nothing to do with Toriyama's manga.

Which is probably actually a good thing. Because Akira Toriyama's Dragonball isn't a manga that seems to lend itself to live adaptation.

I'll be seeing this movie. But as a martial arts fan, not as a Dragonball fan.

(But, seriously can Chow Yun Fat ever redeem himself after stooping to a role in this movie? I guess we'll see...)

It looks like it will be a fun watch, so far I think that Piccolo has been handled pretty good.

Are you going to ban me for stating my opinion? If you do maybe I will return with some friends and decide to post some gay porn and pics. On every thread on this site. The true fans of Dragonball have spoken and you have all been warned.

Yeah... real legitimate opinion there. He shows up and calls the movie gay... that's an opinion to respect.

Just an example.

I don't know what got all of your knickers in a twist, but this trailer looked freakin' cool! Maybe you all just have standards that are impossibly high.

Or mine are impossibly low.

Either way, this only made me want to go see the movie even more. And about Chatwin not sounding enthusiastci enough... I wasn't seeing it. The only part that he sounded unenthusiastic in was when he saw the capsule and sorta just shrugged it off with a "cool".

Well after "The Dark Knight" the bar for adaptions (and movies in general) has been raised quite a bit.

Gotta love the guy in the lower right corner of that screen shot. He's looking at American Piccolo thinking, "That is............bull sh*t!" :P

Well said. The Dark Knight caught my eye in trying to make a movie close to the original source and more in real life style.

Also, a DBZ fan boy could make a better movie than this.

Since when is Dragonball like real life, I'd say they toned it down quite a bit.

As a huge Joker fan, who worried terribly about what they'd do to the Joker after what they had done to Ra's Al Ghul...I loved Dark Knight. It was amazing, the price of IMAX tickets was completely worth it.

What exactly is so bad about it? I can't think of a single thing that a fan of Batman couldn't like about the second film, since it got rid of my two complaints for the first movie.
