Their utter lack of mentioning any re-editing to the show is disturbing to me. It may have just been a rumor after all...

The Jump scan says it will be re-edited.

It depends what you mean by editing. Do you mean removing scenes and cutting it all back together, or actually adding new effects?

We know at least that it's being extended for widescreen, don't we? So they're at least making some changes to the original print.

I thought the information on the series being cut down, at all, was a rumor?

The "edited down to 100 episodes" thing is a rumor, and the idea that this will be a filler-less version of DBZ is speculation, but it is confirmed that it will be re-edited, since it says that on that page from Jump.

Ok, I really don't feel like running through 18 pages, so after these 100 episodes have aired; will they do another 100 episodes "refreshed?"

The whole "100" episodes thing is still an unconfirmed rumor.

Hmmm...Will more rumors be confirmed or unconfirmed with the next weekly jump?

It's from 2chan, no less, so it comes from an extremely unreliable source, and it never should have been mentioned to begin with. If there ends up being any truth to this, I will insert my foot into my own mouth. And take pictures =P

So the series might actually be it's full length after all? Then it'll be on the air for years!

When you say "will they do another 100 episodes refreshed?," do you mean another 100 episodes of Z or another 100 episodes of one of the other series? Well, there's no real confirmation that it's going to be just 100 episodes of Z being "refreshed." That's pure speculation. For all we know it'll actually be cut down to 220 episodes, or some random number less than 291 and greater than 1. It's really still all up in the air.

As for another series being "refreshed" after they're done with Z; we have no idea. They've typically followed all their initial Z releases with the remaining two series, but we really have no idea or official confirmation of any kind regarding that. Basically, we know Z is getting "refreshed" for a 16:9 HD presentation with some re-editing. Other than that, we won't know until Toei releases some more information or until this "refreshed" version actually airs on April 5th.

Yeah, I meant only Z, but I would be nice to see Fist of The North Star or JoJo's Bizarre Adventure get refreshed. Now, when you guys say "refreshed" does that also mean the film is cleaned too?

Didn't Toei make an HD master for Fist of The North Star [Hokuto no Ken] for the DVD BOX set that came out a little while ago. Also I'm not too hopeful that Toei would lend out these new HD remastered versions of DBZ to a company like Funimation, but maybe that's just me.

Pretty much. Konjiki no Gash Bell was only 150 episodes and it was on the air for 3 years.

Don't they get money for that kind of stuff? They probably don't have the same preconceived notions about Funimation that DBZ fans. Especially because of the monies.

Hey I'm not saying Funimation shouldn't pay for the new master of DBZ in HD. And if they did then I would buy those products from Funimation. I meant to say even if they where willing to pay for the new HD masters I'm not sure Toei would give them those, so that they (Toei) would be the only ones with the true (complete) episodes in HD. Oh well if and when it comes out on Blu Ray I may just import one or two disc like I did with the Japanese Region 2 DVD's.

Something I just realized... they said they're using the original voicecast.

...

What are they gonna do about Tenshinhan? Will they have someone else voice him?

Aren't there other DB seiyuu who have died as well?

They have already been replaced for the newer video games, so yes, they will use those voice actors.
