Chi Chi even took a slap from Goku without dying. If it wasn't for her being caught off guard, she would have blocked it and returned the slap and oblierated Goku, and then the heart disease would not be the biggest problem.
Why do you think Gohan studies at all?
In secret, Chi Chi keeps him to do so via physical punishment.
The whole "scientist" thing is programmed into Gohan's mind.
Chi Chi's mother is Dr. Gero, who acually is a woman.

You have a really interesting theory there.
That's why Yamcha was told to take some of the medicine himself, as he was going to spend a looooong time with Chi Chi.

So if Rocketman lived with Chichi, his chances of having a heart attack would drop to zero percent and stay there no matter how old he gets. Man, this is one enlightening discussion.

It would also explain why in timelines altered by Trunks, Goku was affected three years later; he was busy training instead of being nagged by her.

He says he was taught a lot by Kami, but there's not really anything to suggest that he did any further training over the course of the series (well, aside from that filler anyway).
