Awesom, gonna download now. I wonder if Ooishi-san could get permission to do more Dragonball, as Toriyama's official successor. With her dedication to the series I think she could really create some great and respectful new material.

Ooh, Julian's doing a translation?

I noticed she skipped the radish "lottery" part here.. I liked that part.

I'd like her to. Even though I used to think such a thing would be a long shot, after a live action movie, the 2008 Jump Special, and Kai...I'm a little more optimistic about the future of Dragon Ball.

If she were to do a new series, I'd hope she'd start on it while Kai is on, so by the end of Kai there would be a large amount of story for Toei to work with in a new anime without having to rely on filler.

That really depends on your definition of "canon" in the Dragonball universe.

It does not fit in with the manga/anime storyline, so that rules it out for most peopel (including myself). But it was written/created with heavy influence from Toriyama, so some people (who are just desperate for a continuation of the series, in my own contentious opinion) do choose to see it as a canonical continuation of the "canon" series.

The original aniamted version is canon because it came first and fits into the storyline, simple as that.

Wait, who said it fits in with the manga storyline? I remember that there were some things that contradicted that; something about Majin Buu or something.

Second, for a lot of people, "canon" stops with the manga. And Akira Toriyama didn't even really have too much to do with this, the idea for the story is accredited to Koyama Takao and was directed by Ueda Yoshihiro, with Toriyama only being mentioned as the creator of the original story. Honestly, this is about as canonical as DBZ movie 9, in a ton of ways.

I think the art was really weak, it felt really flat and lifeless to me, it just made me want to watch the special.

The art reminded me of Dragon Ball RN

Goku's gi is without symbols, Bubbles is white, Tarble looks like Vegeta with a slight difference in hair style.

Tenshinhan & Chaotzu are here (YAY), No Raditz (BOOO)

So, Do you think Toriyama is offecially retiring from drawing Dragon Ball but keeps writing new stories for the new artist like Takahashi with Yu-Gi-Oh GX?

I would say he probably isn't even too interested in that. I really think people approach him about DB things and just promise him money.

Ok, I decided to go back to my scanlation days and do an Arabic version of the manga

. For those who don't know, I used to do Arabic scanlations of One Piece for a group called MoFans. I started with ch. 460 and ended it with ch. 513 due to college and to have more time with MY manga "Violet Shadows".

So, if you don't mind Kei17, I'll use you're scans for it. Don't worry, I'll mention you in the credits

I can use the translated script used for the anime special, unless there is some changes.

All what left here, is a full translation of the front and back covers, and the page that got Toriyama's and Ooishi's message.

Wow no kidding, searched most of the website I order most of my magazines from and non of them had V-Jump. Does someone else maybe have any website where I could get it anyway?
