Wasn't it also due to the fact that there was only one wish from Shenlong and then he disappeared that Movie 13 was considered not-canon?

They could've done the Buu wish offscreen :p

Well they went and used one of the wishes in the Buu saga, right? To revive Vegeta's victims. They said if they didn't use the other wish, then they could summon Shenlong again to use it in six months.

Though now I'm not sure if Shenlong still only granted two wishes, or was upgraded to three. I'm pretty sure it was still only two.

Anything for a slight advantage. In his world cites were being blown up left and right, it's not like blacksmiths were readily available at every turn. It didn't even last very long against the androids. So no I don't think this sword was the grand Kais sex toy he dropped from the heavens and Trunks found one day or anything "WHOMAG PLOT TWIST" like that.

However SSJ3 Gotenks is pretty stronger than Gohan for whatever reason.

I agree with Super Ghost Kamikaze in that the sharpness probably had something to do with it. Presumably Trunks wouldn't have been able to slice Freeza in half with a twig or a rolled-up newspaper.

I personally think Kid Trunks has it, in that Trunks' ki is responsible. Because it was greater than Freeza's, it sliced through. Because Cold's was weaker, it couldn't slice through Trunks. And because Trunks is weaker than #18, it shattered.

I'm not sure how it works. They made 1 wish, right? And then the dragon balls went to recharge for half the normal time. So...wouldn't they be recharging the used wish, and thus have 2 wishes again in 2 months?

But since we never see them use a second wish when they erase Buu's memories, we don't know..

I'm honestly lead to believe that Bulma poofed one up for him, maybe gave it some spiffy boost that kept it from breaking when Trunks used it.

I gotta agree with Dayspring(though not Kid Trunks) on how the sword was able to slice through things. As Trunks's offensive force was greater than Freeza's defensive force by a big margin, he was able to slice him wide open. As 18's defensive force was much greater than Trunks's offensive force, the sword breaks.

And btw, Gohan was only the strongest unfused fighter. I don't find it unreasonable that Gotenks(a fused fighter) could have surpassed him.

Shin Buu was even to a bit stronger than SSJ3 Gotenks while Gohan was considerable stronger than the Buu.

That can easily mean he just wasn't putting up a fight against a foe who was just messing around. Either way, chances are he was still going to be brutally beaten...

I don't believe he ever actually says he was holding back.

Boo never stated he held back--but he did say Gohan was the only one who was stronger then him. Not to mention he began to plan on how he was going to challenge Gohan when he sensed Gohan's power and realized it was potentially greater then his.

Since he noted that absorbing Gotenks with his full-time intact was his plan, it seems to imply he wasn't going all-out against him. They're likely equal because of what Piccolo said, but Gotenks isn't stronger.
