I always thought it's perfectly reasonable to assume that Piccolo is his real name. It makes sense for Katatz to call his son Another World since he was about to send him to... another world. Quite an apt name, in my opinion.
Now it is strange that "Kami" (for lack of a better name) forgot that he was called Piccolo, while his evil half seemed to remember it. Moreover, once Piccolo confronted Kami, why didn't he then remember it? ("Ahhh yes of course that was it")
But it's probably more logical that Piccolo took the name simply because he wanted nothing to do with the pathetic little dustball that was his new home. "I can't be from this stupid planet, I'm from another world!! Hey... that has a nice ring to it... The Great Demon King from Another World - Piccolo Daimao!"
It's all GOOD

But it's possible Kamiccolo (I think I'll call him that now) was born before the disaster on Planet Namek, so Katattsu wouldn't have any reason to name him that at the time of his birth.

As shown in the Saiyan arc, neither Kami nor Piccolo had any idea they were aliens.

I'd say "Kamicolo", based on how Gokû pronounced the name.
And yeah, it's probably the best we have, short of "Katattsu's child"...

I keep calling him "SOK."

Ah, but is "son" appropriate, for a genderless Nameccian?
...
And would you really call him "COK"?
