What's Your Favourite Comic Relief Character?

Sorry, but this is one of those things that bus me, so I have to jump in and correct you real quick. Their last name is "Brief", not "Briefs". For some reason people want to make it plural, and I'm not sure why exactly. Although this is a little nit-picky, his actual title is doctor. I think he should probably be called by that title, especially considering he spent all those years in school to achieve the title.

Also, we really don't know if Bulma or her Mom's last name is Brief, since neither is ever referred to as such. Bulma's Mom is only ever referred to or credited as "Bulma's Mom". In fact, we don't even know if Brief is Bulma's Dad's last name. It might just be his first name, just like those doctors that tell people to call them by his first name to be more informal, like "Dr. Bob" or something.

Anyway, my favorite relief characters would probably have to be Pilaf and co. Especially at the beginning of the series. Pilaf asking the alligator in episode 3 of DragonBall where Kame-sennin is and threatening to turn him into a wallet is simply priceless.

I still like to call Bulma's mum "Panchy"...

Brief is indeed his first name since they more or less said Family Names aren't used in the civilization of Dragon Ball, and Bulma's full name was listed as "Bulma" in one scene (Filler when Son is looking for Bulma in Metro West). How many Bulma's were there again? 2 or 3? I can't remember...

I'd go for Pilaf too, since he's quite involved all throughout the Dragon Ball anime and even brought forth the evil Piccolo, but I'd have to go with Muten Roshi. His antics are wild, and Umigame playing the straight man with him is classic, especially when he tells him off, it sounds so funny when Umigame yells "KAME-SENNIN!"

Plus some of the animation around Roshi makes him resemble an old cartoon from the '30s to '50s, especially in the second Dragon Ball movie, and some moments in Z.

Though the stuff that seems funniest to me is all the dumb things Goku says as a boy, but I didn't think of counting Goku as comic relief since he's the friggin' main character.

Probably Mr Satan, even though compared to other characters he's only in it towards the end. I especially like the part where he first gets to the Kaioshin realm and thinks he can fly.

Sorry, I'm going back and forth between Gamefaqs and here at the moment, so I accidentally say stuff like "Super" Buu, Master Roshi and the mistake you mentioned.

What's wrong with these two?

And I hate to say it, but everyone so far is completely wrong because the greatest comic relief character is Ninja Murasaki.

I don't see why it would even matter what forum you're on, because that's not his name. And you can't use the excuse that it's his dub name, because FUNimation's English dub also uses Dr. Brief.

Viz uses "Professor Briefs".

That wasn't filler. And there was one other Bulma that was shown in the manga, a fat woman.

I think you've got the wrong relief (Around 7-8 minutes in?)

(Hey, is it just me, or is the Dr. Frappe contradiction missing from the dub? I don't remember that happening...)

(Ah, in Looking for this clip I noticed an interesting something in Goku's counting... With 11 and 12 missing Goku's '14' wound up where the 12 goes. XD ).

"They're your balls; you keep them!"

[edit] AH! It seems I left out some important parts.  [/edit]

Appule was a comic relief character?
Mine is Muten Roshi.

I'm going to go with Roshi, as well. I like Krillin, but he's not really comic relief in most of his big moments. He was mostly used that way in the movies. My favorite Krillin moments are nearly all more serious moments.

I have to say Pilaf. Everything he does is always an absolute failure. The funniest Pilaf moments are when he interacted with Daimao. Hilarious.

If we're talking canon, Gotenks. If we can expand out of that, Para Para Brothers and Soguroku Family.

I'd say Roshi all the way... my favorite perv. And to some extent - Yajirobi.

I don't find Krillin particularly funny.

Yamcha.

After the battle with the Saiyans, everything pertaining to him seemed to be comic reief to me.
