When I found out that Dragon Ball (not Z) was from the 80's I thought it would have been one of the cartoons my older brother would have watched when he was young. I asked him and he said he'd never heard of it... Silly me not knowing it had never aired here in Australia yet. I figured he had a bad memory because I found an old swap card of Android 17 in his swap card album. But apparently he just bought whatever cards he thought looked cool.

And after seeing him in my friends bootleg copy of Ultimate Battle 22, I thought Great Saiyaman was another Saiyan from outer space that had come to earth to help fight crime or something.

I thought an online DBZ quiz I took in... 1999(?) was dumb because the very last question asked "What is Krillin's daughter's name?" and I was all, "My favorite character doesn't have a daughter!"

My list is LONG, so I'll start with these and maybe add more later.

-I thought that in the fight with Raditz, the teams were Goku and Gohan against Piccolo and Raditz (I thought this because Piccolo was green and evil looking)
-I thought Frieza's Kienzan made Goku lose his SS form due to a preview for the next episode after Frieza showed off his attack
-Trunks was evil like his father (this was before I had seen all of the namek saga) and he killed GOhan, causing him to come back to life as a super-saiyan
-When Cell made Cell Jr's, there were millions of them and gohan killed almost all of them with android 16 killing a few, and Goku, Vegeta, and Piccolo killing one a piece

The last two come from a kid I used to talk to about DBZ back in elementary school (grade 3,4 mostly I think).

I remember when my cousin and I told this kid that there was 1000 episodes of GT. He believed us then the next day he came to us and said that on episode 600 Gohan had a so named Gochu.

I used to believe that when ever someone fused their strength doubled depending on the form. for example SSJ Goku and Vegeta fuse to SSJ Gogeta who was as strong as a ssj2( get it 1+1=2). So I always thought that Vegeto/Gogeta SSJ1=SSJ2 strength, SSJ2=SSJ4 strength, SSJ3=SSJ6 strength and SSJ4=SSJ8(hence why his hair was red instead of black or dark brown).

I remember in the 5th grade when a person in my school made up lies about GT like Goten dies from Lord Slug after coming back to life.

I used to think Freeza lied about his power level being over 1 million, and that no one in Dragon Ball ever reached that level of power, except maybe Buu.

Hmm. let me see... Well I don't seem to have made a lot of these mistakes that people are listing, though they're just the sort of mistakes I can imagine making. One fairly common mistake I made was in thinking that Pilaf and Garlick Jr were the same person - but I'd only seen screenshots of Pilaf at the time since I hadn't seen/read Dragon Ball (not Z) until quite recently.

I think probably the stupidest mistake I made, and I really can't see how in retrospect, was in blending King Yemma and Ox King into one character in my memory. It wasn't until I was speaking to my friend a few years ago, before I sat down and made a point of re-watching DBZ (and in the correct order this time), that I realised what a weird mistake I'd made. I guess I just thought that Yemma had a human form or something, or maybe I forgot how big and red he was... In my defence, I hadn't seen or read Dragon Ball so I didn't really know the history. I just saw two big, fat, bearded guys, both with "King" in their names, who always seemed a bit overwhelmed by what was going on around them and who both wore horned-helmets with kanji on.

I also didn't notice certain things like how Future Trunks and Kid Trunks aren't the same person but are in fact from two different timelines. I also didn't have any concept of filler so I just accepted everything, even the movies.

The first time I saw art from GT, I thought little Goku was supposed to be Goten as an adult. I remember questioning why he was so short compared to Trunks. I also thought that Bra was Bulma, and wondered why she looked so young compared to Chichi. I saw the last episode of Z after GT started airing on Toonami, so I didn't know Bulma and Vegeta had another child.

Before I knew about the timelines, I thought F. Trunks would disappear when they changed history.

My brother told me that Vegeta "became evil again" in GT and they killed him off for good. He was partially right.

Which suggests to me that said people probably don't complain about Masako Nozawa's adult Goku...

I made the same mistake. I one of my magazines I saw the GT screenshot of Vegeta holding Bra after their car was destroyed. So I assumed Bulma and Vegeta became bikers in GT because of the leather. I did think it was a little odd, though.

Well, I'm one of those "complainers"... And considering Trunks and Future Trunks were both raised under different circumstances it would seem logical that their two personalities would be different. I mean, I just can't imagine Trunks becoming all polite and humble after being raised by Vegeta.
