Do you really like a distorted [stretched out] image? LOL!
I am assuming this is what godofchaos is remarking at which if true, I agree.

I have been throwing up whether to buy certain items on Amazon for ages... then Dragon Box 2 gets listed and I preorder without hesitation.
Says a lot!
So this covers right up before Goku enters the fight. That's a lot of really good episodes!

Looks like Box 3 will cut off just as the Artificial Humans arrive.
That's a pretty good cut-off point, I think.

I'm hoping Funimation do this...
Dragon Box Z Vol. 6 should be the last set with a Dragon Book included, then for Vol. 7 they could fill the space with an extra DVD Book for the 3 or 2 Bonus discs if they're not spread out over future releases. I said 3 or 2, because what's stopping them squishing all of the extras together and taking out some unnecessary things...
I don't care if they take out all those product commercials, as long as we get the TV specials and the 2 Playdia episodes sub only...

Anyone got any info on that Fist of the North Star box set apart from the fact that it's going to be released? Will it use the HD Masters from the 25th anniversary Japan Region 2 box set?The Time Traveller wrote:I think I'd like to pay for the most expensive shipping for this one, since I was late with preordering it...
For some reason, recently I've been very weary of it, like I didn't want it that much, but seeing Heath and Mike's reviews and comparisons I want it the same as I did when it was first announced, and I felt like I was slipping away from Dragon Ball for a while, but I'm not...
Also, Fist of the North Star boxsets next year too!
It's all coming together!
I'd stretch it to widescreen on my 360. I just love the way things look in widescreen. Do you mean the bottom of the box, or the sheet on the back that has that really long thing saying "OMG THE DRAGONBOX IS HERE!!!1".Armymanis wrote:My back piece was peeling off a little bit, but I think its going to be ok. You have to expect stuff like that and its only paper so you can always tape it on right?
Because that thing is totally supposed to come off.

That makes the cover art all the more annoying. If they went Goku, then Freeza, then Cell, then Vegeta(or maybe Super Saiyan Goku), they'd have it right for four boxes. Piccolo would work for one of the Buu arc sets, since he's a pretty strong mentor figure in those episodes, so he has enough presence and there's no Buu-specific art on the second Dragon Box. The last Dragon Box could have had the Gohan art on it. Starting it with the father and ending it with the son? I suppose the torch is never passed, but it could work.Kingdom Heartless wrote:Looks like Box 3 will cut off just as the Artificial Humans arrive.

My Dragon Box arrived earlier than I expected from Amazon (they estimated the first week of December and it arrived this past Saturday). Guess the free shipping isn't that bad after all.
What can I say that hasn't been said already? This is the single best Dragon Ball Z DVD release in North America, period. I am absolutely floored by how amazing the show looks and sounds. On top of that, I am so very, very happy to see the next episode previews included finally. Whatever little they add to the overall show for some, I still consider them an important part of the overall experience of the series.
As one of the fans who started out with the Ocean Dub years and years ago, who bought both fansubs and licensed VHS/DVDs on numerous occasions, and yes, even gritted my teeth and bought the orange bricks when it seemed like that was the best we'd ever get here, I just have to say one thing to Funimation: thanks for finally getting it right.

Well first off, that's not going to happen, especially if you're going to call the Dragon Book unnecessary. I almost guarantee that a Dragon Book will be included with every Dragon Box. I don't think they'll go away from including the episode synopsis' with those specific episodes. And based on the first Dragon Book, they're really pushing their ability of getting everything from the originals into 7 much smaller Dragon Books. If they even leave one of them out, that's tons of stuff they're gonna be leaving out.The Time Traveller wrote:Dragon Box Z Vol. 6 should be the last set with a Dragon Book included, then for Vol. 7 they could fill the space with an extra DVD Book for the 3 or 2 Bonus discs if they're not spread out over future releases. Yeah, did you do the math on that? Cause that would totally screw the sets up. And if there were 4 discs in each DVD book, then they'd be thicker, offsetting the thickness of the Dragon Book. I'd imagine they want every set to be the same size. I guess I'm not sure how well this would work out for them.KillerCory wrote:They could easily put 4 disks in each DVD book however so they would still have room for 2 extra DVDs per set.

Wait, wouldn't they be able to put 2 stackable trays into each book instead of one single tray and one stackable tray?Hujio wrote:Yeah, did you do the math on that? That's what I was trying to address on the podcast, although I did a horrible job of over-thinking it all and getting my point across. If you own the set, you'll notice that the side with the stackable discs is thicker than the side with the single disc. If they put stackable discs on both sides, then the total thickness of the DVD book would increase and completely offset the thickness of the Dragon Book. That would mean all you could fit in the Dragon Box, as it is now, would be two DVD books (no Dragon Book). I'm not sure if you can make it out in this photo, but bottom side has the stackable tray, which I hope you can see is thicker. This thickness isn't really even negotiable, since as-is it perfectly fits the thickness of the two stacked discs. Then you run into the whole thing of the spine getting screwed up if they change the thickness of the DVD books and still include Dragon Books. I'm basically going to guarantee that this won't be happening.Ex-Dubbie369 wrote:Wait, wouldn't they be able to put 2 stackable trays into each book instead of one single tray and one stackable tray?Hujio wrote:Yeah, did you do the math on that?
