Hello
Last I heard FOX were 100% doing a sequel. Even James Marsters had said he asked to play a younger looking piccolo for the sequel. There was reports that Robert Pattinson was set to play Vegeta and now I hear nothing
The film had it's flaws no one will debate that but they could have fine tuned it/improved upon it and made the sequel great (though please don't have Robert Pattinson as vegeta) but still no news. Does anyone know?

The last time I heard about this was before the movie even came out in America. James Marsters was on some talk show and the host(ess? I forget) said something about him being greenlighted for a sequel. But considering how badly it did, I have honest doubt we'll ever see a sequel.

There was some news that the sequel was due to start filming in 2010, but I think it was a rumour. Justin Chatwin and Emmy Rossum are both filming for a new TV show their both in. The film didn't make enough money. If there was going to be a sequel I think we would of known by now. So it doesn't look good for DBE.

FOX's hold on DBE's url dies on May 14th, 2010. If they let that expire without renewing it, I think it's safe to say that puts the nail halfway into the coffin (the other half depending on what they do with that 2011 Reborn listing on IMDB).
The Patterson thing was an April Fools joke on one of the two live action blogs from last year.
I think the only person who can be asked about it and actually give an informative response would be James Marsters. Maybe someone'll ask him over Con season (he does lots of different roles, it likely won't be an anime con, but he could be at one for comics or sci-fi at some point this summer).
On hiatus.

He will be attending Dragon Con from September 3rd to the 5th. That's quite a while off, maybe we'll have more information by then.

It's a shame I could really see Robert Pattison playing the role of Vegeta, He has the right appearance and hair-do, and would be a lovely match for Emily Rossum.

Sorry Yamcha!
Seriously though, Fox really could not afford his wages after the huge ratings Twilight and it's sequel have bought to him. After Dragonball Evolution 1 I feel there budget may be slightly lower than what Pattison and his agents may be requesting. I agree with it being a cruel april fools joke, But heck I can dream of a Pattison Vegeta...
I second, that somebody locates the wherabouts of James Marsters and try and prise some information out of him; I was really hoping out for a sequel. Come on Fox please deliver!
On a side note - Does anybody have anymore details on the TV series someone mentioned, with Emily Rossum and Justin Chatwin? I'm quite intrigued and would love to have a little more details.

I really couldn't see Robert Patterson playing Vegeta, but maybe that's just because I'm anti-Twilight. But, you know, he's already got enough screaming fangirls to last him a lifetime.

I can't vegeta is more Arrogant while Patterson's acting seems more Emo. So not a fit. Someone like Ray Park would be my choice.

I hope someone gets a chance to ask him about it at that con.
I'm certain they'll be more information on if we will or won't see any more live action DB stuff from FOX by September; especially with imdb's 2011 date.
What's a shame is James Marsters really seems like a nice guy who, along with his son, was into the source material and yet he ends up stuck with DBE's script/budget.
Also,
http://www.foxmovies.com/ could really use an update. They're still listing Avatar and that Chipmunks sequel under "Coming Soon". ^^;;
On hiatus.

If a DBE sequel was made then it will likely be release a direct to video release. I doubt fox will put more money on a sequel to a movie that bomb, and if a sequel was release in theathers then I doubt half the people would know about it, or see it.

Be great if they could make the second much more like an old asian kung-fu flick.
Goku attends the martial arts tournament attempting to be number one, but a suprise opponent, Piccolo's regeneration has also entered. As the tournament reaches it's climax a greater opponent comes from the sky. The Saiyans have arrived!

I'm with you, there is no way in hell I would ever pay any amount of money to see him play Vegeta. Thank god it was just an April Fools thing.
Now on to the question, wasn't the idea of a sequel canned because DBE did so poorly? The any hope of seeing a future installment is if Fox drops the licensing rights and someone with skill(and a proper budget) picks the series back up.
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?

The Spider-Man reboot is an awful joke at the moment. It's so utterly apparant that Sony is solely searching for a "Yes-Man" of sorts to carry on Avi Arad, and Laura Ziskin's vision of what the film should be in the marketable aspects. Hell, the film is being given an 80 million dollar budget, of which is significantly much lower than the highly profitable results of Spider-Man 3.
A reboot would be awesome only in the case of being handled by a passionate team that has the available resources to tap into creating a film that actually resonates "Dragonball".
I'd love to see a Dragonball film that resembles the recently released sequel to Storm Riders (an aesthetically pleasing film, with a dull plot -.-) :

Can you please fix your topic to have "happening" instead of "happing"?

While DBE didn't set the boxoffice on fire, it did make money but having a budget of $30 million would be hard for a tie-in with a large fanbase to not make money. As with other franchises, if we were to get a DTV sequel, it probably won't be so soon, there's often times a couple of years between the release of an original, and its DTV sequels. I say this, because I doubt Fox is done with DragonBall.
"I like the money it brings in, but Dragon Ball Heroes is the worst. That's actually the real reason I decided to start working on new material. I was afraid Bandai would make something irredeemably stupid like Super Saiyan 4 Broly." - Akira Toriyama, made up interview, 2013.
