DragonBall AF Reference

Post by Piccolo Daimao » Thu Feb 18, 2010 8:36 am

On the second panel (in the order that you'd read it) of Viz's DragonBall Volume 6, Page 118, there's a little poxtbox or whatever with "AF Mail" written on it.

Is this relating to DragonBall AF, or is this just some random thing? I don't think AF was even made back then (when the original version of that volume came out), so is it just a Viz addition or was it present in the Japanese version?

Dragon Ball AF was never made. Ever. The rumors about it and stuff didn't start until long after Dragon Ball GT ended, since it was that Super Saiyan 5 Goku picture that started that fire. Probably just a weird coincidence.

The History of Trunks has a mailbox in it that you see right before Trunks finds Gohan that has AF Mail written on it.

Oh. I knew that it had never been officially created, but I thought a fan (can't remember the name) made it. Eh.

I'm fully planning on doing a tongue-in-cheek page called "THE CONSPIRACY"... or something like that.

There's the mailbox in the Trunks special. I'm pretty sure Bulma's license plate has "AF" in it. There was at least one other example that I saw but am now forgetting.

There is a fanmanga called DBAF. But that only started after the rumors started, I think. And those rumors started after the end of GT.

If ONLY someone could go back to the day that first person drew a SS5 Goku, and take him to lunch or something instead of his drawing it. AF just won't go away... which is crazy, because it's not even real.

That was actually sort of interesting by the way, that fanmanga called DBAF.

And also there is really something funny, (another fanmade version of DBAF that's different) that I found on youtube. If you type Dragonball AF episode 1 on youtube. You get this real badly animated episode. It's so bad, you have people really pissed off in the comment section . But I didn't take it seriously, I took it as unintentionally funny. The intro is the funniest part.

It's a conspiracy, Dragon Ball AF was planned all along.

No seriously. It was probably the initials of one of the animators at Toei.

Maybe initials, or some random letters. However that idea about conspiracy have a potential to be great fun instead of lot of pointless discussions about things we can't prove.

DBAF is a fan-fic manga (on-going), made by a Japanese guy named Toyble. Here's his website (It's in japanese by the way): http://blog.livedoor.jp/toyble/archives/51477787.html

He's now making "Dragon Ball Zero".

Sorry to necro-post but I was just watching Dragon Ball Episode 42 "A trip to the city" and when Goku is talking to the blonde women asking her about a Police man it zooms across and there is a pink mail box that has "AF MAI" written on it. Is that the other example you were forgetting?
