A little experiment...

So, today I was messing around with Premiere CS5 and I wondered to myself: Huh, I wonder what it's like for those Kai editors, the ones who splice the episodes together. Eying my new, beautiful Adobe product, my beautiful new computer, and my... current, not-so-hot copies of the Cell saga, I went to work seeing how well I could edit one part of the series that always stuck with me in terms of how Z adapted their fights: The Cell Games.

I decided to see how far I could get from the beginning of the Goku VS. Cell fight, and I'm a little amazed. I was able to fit 3 episodes (5 chapters of the manga) into 19 minutes. This is WITHOUT cutting a lot of the filler fighting. Also, I found that Mr. Satan's students are actually no present in most of the shots where Mr. Satan and the anchor are talking, making cutting down on their scenes incredibly easy. Ultimately, it was a smooth, action packed episode with a lot less useless talking and staring and lot more development. It covered from the beginning of the fight, all the way to Goku's Instantaneous Movement Kamehameha!

I wasn't too sure where to post this, but I did want to share my findings... Three whole episodes, still retaining some of it's filler padding. Funny part? Episode 179 took up the second half of the episode, while 177 and 178 took up the first! I also find it amusing that the art style goes from good, to bad, then good again all in one episode. XD

I would share the results, but it's the dub version with a lot of bad music cuts, not to mention... I'd basically be posting pirated video. Jus wanted to share this and see if anyone might have any requests?

Now I'm curious as to how Kai will handle those episodes.

I don't see why this couldn't be posted, it's little different from Abridged and that's whole heartedly endorsed.

I mean, it's not 'full epz downlaod heer', it's a long (unscored) AMV.

That's very interesting. Of course with our luck Kai probably won't cut the fight like that.

What's more interesting if you use the dub for this cut.

This is actually quite well done. You should get the team together to create a voice track for this! O.o
