I'm listening to the podcast and it's pretty good stuff.
I'm glad I chose to listen this time, if only for old times' sake.

It was a really good episode. It had my 2 favorite Dragonball things: Freeza and fan theories.
I always had my own theory on why Coola's second-to-last form looked like Freeza's true form. Perhaps, like how there are only so many colors a human's eyes or hair can be, there are only so many basic forms their race can have. So having different level forms look similar is common-place.

"The one with the weakness to Sigourney Weaver."
Oh God, that had me rollin'.
I always love these discussions. My personally feeling has always been that Freeza either manufactured the first three forms as a power-suppressing armor. Then again, it seems likely that he created them naturally...but wouldn't that require solid ki-control? Then again, maybe it is a genetic trait...

Well, that wasn't nearly as embarrassing as I thought it'd be.

Let me just add to the answer to Jordan's e-mail. Yes, we're not getting the Dragon Box here. But there is absolutely no need for a regionless player. Funimation's Dragon Boxes are both region 1 and our local region 4.

I always sort of assumed that Coola's final form was some extra addition onto his normal full power, and the reason he waited to show it was because he was waiting for the energy to gather to use it. Or something like that.
I like the idea that it's the same as 100% Freeza, only in a controlled state.
I do wonder about King Cold, with him resembling Freeza's second form. Maybe he isn't able to go one step further to a form resembling Freeza's first form. But if he had other forms, he probably should have used them to prevent himself from being killed by Trunks.
Maybe it's best not to overthink everything. It sure can be fun at times, though.

Nice discussion.
I don't know if this will add anything, but in the filler scene during which Gohan returns to fight Freeza, after Goku is (conveniently) temporarily incapacitated, Freeza is shown to 'Power-down', as such, from his bulked-up 100% state before fighting Gohan. He is also shown to return to that 100% state upon Goku's return from beneath the ocean.
So I guess it could be looked at in a similar way to Coola's apparent return to his 4th form upon his unfortunate meeting with the sun.

Re: people 'stealing' content. I've had dozens of sites repost (or hotlink) to my Toyble DBAF translations. There's even a guy now just slowly reposting them to his blog. I'm a little put off because I just don't see the need to repost them: everything's available on my site already. I can get behind those videos of the comic with music and panning, but just reposting kind of hurts.
On the other hand, I'm just typesetting the thing anyway, who am I to say who's allowed to do what with it.

Looks like I'll be importing the dragon boxes then.
It's kinda funny that Mike pointed out my terrible use of apostrophes.
I blame it on my grade 3 teacher. He seemed to convince me that the way i had learnt it previously (the correct way) was wrong and every since then i can never remember.. haha

ALSO! I forgot to mention in my email that I haven't seen any word of the Dragonball Season Sets (blue bricks).
Anybody know if Australia will be getting these or will they stick with the ones we already have?
also if you haven't worked out from my posts... I am Jordan

Madman won't touch Blue Season Sets with a barge pole. Buy the Madman Fatpacks, they're way better value for money.

Darn it, with the trip to Orlando, you tempt me to agree to this trip to Florida my parents spontaneously threw together 72 hours before intended departure time.
(Also, GTR Filler Gameshow chapter Tullece quote FTW. XD)
I like these in-universe analysis/speculation topics.

The person who copied Marc's video is a complete douchebag who is named GojiitaAF. He boasts about his 10 TB collection 24/7, and has a lot of accounts.
Great episode, guys!

There's something I would like to note. I need someone to spot-check this. In Budokai 3, when Coola transforms, correct me if I'm wrong, doesn't it say "Fourth Form"? Because there was once a video clip on IGN, and Coola transformed, and it said "Fourth Form". I think it was before the game came out, but...
EDIT: Woah, thanks for reading my email!

Interesting thing: When Coola's dying in Movie 5, he detransforms back into his fourth form, presumably due to it being his birth form and him "dropping out" of the transformation. But if that's so, why didn't King Cold "detransform" to his birth form when Trunks blew a hole through him?

Perhaps that is his birth form then?

Then Freeza could have based one of his forms as a tribute to his father, that's kinda neat.

Based on the way the transformation process looks for both Freeza and Coola, I'd be inclined to say that Coola's fifth form is an extension of his fourth, similar to Super Saiyan. On the other hand, Freeza's first three forms seem to be different variations of one another, while being a seperate entity from his fourth/true form. The first three just seem to warp and bend his existing body, but when he transforms into his final form, we see cracks appear in his body, then BOOM! Final form Freeza. (Unless that was filler, but hey, Coola is completely filler so it doesn't matter.)
As such, Cold's alternate forms may work the same way, and while Coola's "extension" would revert to his "normal" form when knocked down, this may not go for Cold and Freeza's "suppressed" forms.
