Just because of that King Cold and Freeza were strong, it doesn't mean that the rest of their race was strong too.
Just look at the average Saiya-jin's birth power, which is from 2-100 or something. And then we have Vegeta with several times that power at birth.
It could just be that the Cold family had great power, like some kind of ki mutants.

Yeah, I've always just figured they were abnormally strong for their race. The Tien and Krillin of their species, as it were. The average human, and even the really skilled human, wouldn't be able to do much against them. Satan, Videl, Roshi, Tao, they'd all get slapped aside with ease. So while Freeza's resting at 530,000 the rest of his race could be maxing out at 20,000.

Supporting this theory is how Cold's daizenshuu bio says he's at the summet of his race in regards to power, with Freeza being stronger than even him, as well as Freeza's statement that he never expected to meet someone stronger than Ginyu. In other words (in first form), Freeza has a BP of 530,000, Cold a weaker BP that's on par with that, and the rest of the race less than 120,000.Xyex wrote:Yeah, I've always just figured they were abnormally strong for their race. This is why I think they killed off their race: they clearly had the means to and the destruction of the Saiyans+Cold's statement gives precedence for them fearing the potential of people one day becoming stronger than them.

I guess Freeza kept daddy alive out of respect. Though I wouldn't doubt someday he'll kill him if he deemed him completely useless.
Honestly, while cool lookin and all, King Cold doesn't really fit into the series. I mean, it could have just been loyal Freeza soldiers that rescued and repaired him in space. I guess AT decided to show that there was at least one other member of Freeza's race before Trunks put and end to the entire Freeza subject in the series.

Cold's bio says that he's the head of his race, in the sense of being leader, not that he's at the top of his race in terms of power.Dayspring wrote:Supporting this theory is how Cold's daizenshuu bio says he's at the summet of his race in regards to power, with Freeza being stronger than even him

Re: King Cold a creation of the Tsfurian Race?
Didn't Cold say something along the lines of, "Only someone as strong as you can belong to my race." to Trunks? He might have just been saying that to sucker him in to joining him, but I doubt he'd make something up about an entire race just to compliment someone.
The lines about Ginyu don't necessarily mean anything; just that Freeza didn't expect to meet anyone more powerful than Ginyu on Namek. The statement itself also makes little sense to begin with if you ask me. What about Vegeta clearly matching his first form? An enraged Gohan? Piccolo who clearly matched his second form? He didn't say that to anyone but Goku for some reason.
Interestingly enough, there's one part in the Buu saga in the manga that shows a dead creature with some similar features to King Cold depicting the destruction Buu left in his rampage. Though I recall there being some pretty big differences too such as lacking three large toes.

He says "You, the strongest in the universe, are certainly qualified to become part of my household" (in Viz the line is "Ours is a clan open only to the very, very strong").Cableguy15 wrote:Didn't Cold say something along the lines of, "Only someone as strong as you can belong to my race." to Trunks? Re: King Cold a creation of the Tsfurian Race?
Interesting, Herms. Never knew Cold referred to Trunks as the "strongest in the universe."
I really wonder what happened to their race, though? And if Freeza was the only who (Not counting Cooler, lol) needed to create transformations to restrain his immense power.

Re: King Cold a creation of the Tsfurian Race?
I'd doubt that Freeza was the only one with transformations; considering how many there were, and how drastic the transformations are themselves, I'd guess they work somewhat like Super Saiyan levels, though they might not be nearly as hard to achieve; everyone of his race is born with the theoretical capability to transform, though they might not be individually capable of all of the transformations. Since Freeza strikes me as the type of person with Chronic Backstabbing Disorder, I'd say that Cold is tough enough to at least keep Freeza from trying. Ergo, he could transform, though, given the time it takes time for them to transform, and that Trunks was in No-Holds-Barred-Beatdown mode, that time simply wasn't available.
I dislike you intensely.(probably)
Re: King Cold a creation of the Tsfurian Race?
I don't think Freeza would backstab his father (unless something major happened), which is why Cold stayed in the form we saw. I agree he didn't transform against Trunks for the reasons you mentioned, but if he was strong enough in such a low form to last long enough like you said against Mecha Freeza, than Cold's final form should dwarf Freeza's strength.shinaobi wrote:I'd doubt that Freeza was the only one with transformations; considering how many there were, and how drastic the transformations are themselves, I'd guess they work somewhat like Super Saiyan levels, though they might not be nearly as hard to achieve; everyone of his race is born with the theoretical capability to transform, though they might not be individually capable of all of the transformations.
