Just google "Budokai 3 Amazon" and "Tenkaichi 3 Amazon".
Oh I see. The problem is, there are like 3 different versions of the B3, a collectors edition and the greatest hits edition. On top of that, Amazon doesn't give you sales numbers or the sales numbers outside of Amazon. Where is Super Saiyan Prime when you need him?
True, most people buy games physically in stores.

EDIT: Found this in the "sales thread":

Vashkey wrote:I was going off of VGchartz, a game sales tracking site. According to vg chartz...

Budokai 1 - 2.8 mill

Budokai 2 - 2.17 mill

Budokai 3 - 1.90 mill

Tenkaichi 1 - 1.57 mill

Tenkaichi 2

PS2 - 640 thousand
Wii - 220 thousand

Tenkaichi 3

PS2 - 2.20 mill
Wii - 860 thousand

Burst Limit

PS3 - 760 thousand
360 - 470 thousand
Don't know if I trust this 100%, but those are the only figures I could find.

@Piccolo Daimaoh: So Budokai 1 is 2nd best selling DB game? Well, I guess it kind of makes since.

Well, it's the first DB game on PS2. so people must have been wondering at that time.

Yep. It was the first DB game in a long while on a next-gen console at that time. Would've sold like hotcakes.

I think if Namco Bandai would give Spike, Dimps or whoever atleast 2 years to make a Dragonball game it would come out fantastic. Budokai 3 and Tenkaichi 3 came out just a short year after the previous installment, and those are arguably the 2 best DBZ games. So just imagine if Spike or Dimps had 2 or 2 in a half years to make one. Just look at how MK:9 is turning out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izVZsnCiaWk and its due next spring thanks to Warner Bros who gave the MK crew time to make a badass game and it has been in development since MK vs DC, which came out in fall of 08. So just imagine if a DB game got this much development time.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

HAHA! The developers wouldn't know what to do with all the time they suddenly have. They'd probably rush it just by instinct.

VG Charts isn't a 100% but if two sites are point to BT3 as being higher in sales, I will accept it. It seems true and I stand corrected. I just remember a lot of my non DBZ fans owning Budokai 3 and loving the hell out of it.

Yeah, I don't think they'd know what to do with themselves.
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?

It's been said that it takes at least two years to make decent video game. I always assumed that meant a new game from mostly the ground up. Fighting games can take more time if it's an entirely new game (Street Fighter IV), or maybe less if it's a sequel or expansion (Super Street Fighter IV). Heck, Capcom popped out a new Marvel fighter every year during the nineties.

Dragonball's a bit different. It's a licensed game, so the plot, characters, and designs are already there. You just have to work out the actual gameplay. When working on the first entry to particular series, Budokai or Budokai Tenkaichi, they may have been given more time than what was given for the sequels. Then, when working on Burst Limit and Raging Blast, they may have again been given more time than normal.

Looks like BT3 has more sales well you combine them from the two platforms. But single game system wise its B1.
