Here's the comparison I made with that one particular line:
http://www.daizex.com/misc_stuff/freeza ... arison.mp3
(I wonder how many people would bring up that line as a reference if I didn't talk about it so damn much...

Nakao's Z delivery was much better, he sounded like he almost lost his sanity in that one line. Although his Kai delivery is not bad, it's not as good as the Z delivery. We've come to expect quality from Nakao so it's a bit easier to tell when he has underperformed compared to Z.

I wouldn't say the Kai delivery was necessarily bad or anything, it just sounds different than the original line. I like both deliveries for different reasons; in one, Freeza sounds like he's lost his mind, but in the other, he sounds freakin' angry!

I doubt Nakao even remembers how he performed certain lines. Had the cast listened to their previous selves they would probably try to copy themselves, which they evidentally aren't doing now.

Yeah, I may have accidentally insinuated I was saying such in my previous post, but I do feel it's definitely still good acting. I just feel it is a downgrade from the original performance. If there wasn't an "original performance", then I doubt I would have any complaints with the delivery, though I wouldn't like it as much...

Wow, the audio quality of 'Z' really hasn't stood the test of time, has it?

For the most part, the English VA's in the games (for example Super DBZ) have been horrendous, but Burst Limit was the best performance FUNimation had done until Kai. The script was accurate and the direction was very good. They put effort and it showed.

Yeah, I feel Nakao underperformed a few lines to, but like you that doesn't mean they were bad at all, just different mostly. Overall no performance in the Japanese version of Kai has been flat out bad, and Zs superior delivery of a
handful of lines is hardly enough for it to hold any real advantage over Kai.

Yep, and Linda still blew as Freeza.

Exactly. That's why it always bugs me when people say "Linda could've been awesome if she had the chance." Well she did...and she wasn't.

Goku vs Freeza (final form). I love how the subtitles are there telling you what they're
really saying. Lol.
Oh god, the comments in that video. I'm so glad everyone here can understand the concept of subtitles.

Wow the Subtitles are so lame in comparison to the actual commentary.
Are you fucking kidding me?!
Having the text at the bottom is fantastic - shows just how ridiculous the English dub of this show is.. SO much extra unnecessary chit-chat between shots that really takes away from the fight itself
At least someone on YouTube has common sense...
what the hell is freeza? male or female?
I... really hope this guy is trol-
Frieza is male. I know he's gay.

Stupid, cheesy rewritten one-liners, and highly generic dialogue are "cool"?
Not only that, but the lines are so...wrong, as the other commenter you posted can see.
Hearing Freeza say Goku's put out only 5% while he's only put out 1%, whereas the subtitles say Goku's been using half of his power shows how grossly misinformed the dub has made people.

Is it really worth getting all angry over YouTube comments? Clearly, not everyone enjoys the JP lines. Big frickin' whoop. Let's move on.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Is it really worth getting angry that here on the Daizex forum we discuss things that are relevant to the original Japanese version of Dragon Ball? Clearly not everyone is going to like the dub, and
will say so. Big frickin' whoop. Find a new forum and quit whining in
every thread you post in.

You kinda missed the point of what I was saying, but whatever.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANY Way, what with the lighter schedule, do you think we'll eventually get to the point where we'll only get one episode a week, and eventually reruns?

Okay, I just have a dialogue question in episode 25. On the Nicktoons site, at 6:47, the Grand Elder says:
"The scion of Katatz who ______ among the tribes of old."
Can somebody tell me his line here please?

"The scion of Katattsu - Brightest flame among the tribes of old".
EDIT: I spelt Katattsu wrong...

So did they replace "Dragon Tribe" with "tribes of old"?

Original dialogue:
"
Is that so? I remember now. Katattsu's Child. What a surprise."
"
Who would have thought that he would arrive safely on Earth?"
"
That child was a Dragon-type prodigy, who was capable of creating Dragon Balls."
English dub:
"
Oh, yes. I remember now. A gifted child; a genius."
"
The scion of Katattsu - Brightest flame among the tribes of old".
"
Imagine a maker of Dragon Balls reaching as far out into the cosmos as that."
