No, I doubt it. As Rocketman said, Vegeta had never shown any sign of affection for Bulma before the Majin Boo arc and didn't even move to save her and Trunks when #20 attacked. And a page after everyone finds out Vegeta is Trunks' father, Bulma calls him a jerk. I honestly think the only time Vegeta and Bulma ever developed feelings for each other was in that 7 year time gap. How? Beats me. There is no romance in DB, as far as I'm concerned. In the manga, Goku doesn't show any sign of affection for Chi-Chi and it seems as if the only contact they have with each other is arguing about Gohan's education. Dende knows how the woman managed to bear two children by him. *insert Abridged joke here, I've forgotten it*SephiVA wrote:that's just his nature, Vegeta is Vegeta, and he probably hadn't admitted to himself even that he had so much as an infatuation of her, as he was still stuck on being the way he was back then. But I'm pretty sure Bulma at least had a crush on him at the time..ultimately you CAN'T say he didn't love them when he was Majin Vegeta.Rocketman wrote:Vegeta doesn't make any kind of attempt to save her life when #20 attacked.SephiVA wrote:I don't like that assumption and also disagree with it. I think its even been implied after Trunks appearance that they DID build up a romance of sorts...though different than most would expect out of a couple

Re: Aspects You Wish Were Expanded Upon
I thought of one. In order to fly Kami-Sama's space ship, Mr. Popo had to teach Bulma how to speak Namekian. But once they get to the planet this is never brought up again, given the circumstances. I think it would have been interesting if the gang had to go on the grand Dragonball hunt using Bulma as an interpreter to the natives; it would have made her feel actually useful again for a bit. But because the evil of the arc was introduced immediately, it was a more convenient plot device to have all the Namekians speak what I guess we have to refer to as the DBVerse's 'universal language'...that's a shame.

Re: Aspects You Wish Were Expanded Upon
Popo does offer to teach it to her, but instead she says she'll just remodel the spaceship to not operate on Namekian. Then when she and the gang take off for and eventually land on Namek, she's clearly seen giving the ship instructions in "Earth talk". The control monitor even has "OK" written on it when she gives the order for takeoff. So she probably never learned any Namekian, since there was no real need.Suupaa Gohan 2 wrote:I thought of one. Not ragging just on you, but I just don't see what rivalry they had. They almost came to blows one time in the "Trunks arc", but that was it. Neither of the two have ever personally fought or had any established rivalry like Goku & Piccolo or Kame-sennin & Tsuru-sennin.Nazi Cola wrote:Like someone else said, Vegeta and Piccolo's rivalry.

Re: Aspects You Wish Were Expanded Upon
Vegeta and Piccolo were close to each other in strength at one point in the Namek arc and at another in the Android arc. That's it.
I don't see any rivalry there, especially since the two barely even communicated.

I guess when I say "rivalry", I just wanted to see them fight a few times. >_>

Oozaru.
Man, I'd have to love to see an Oozaru Vs. Oozaru fight.

Didn't they do something like that in BT1? Anyway, I don't think an Oozaru vs. Oozaru fight would be very interesting. Just two big, slow-ass monkeys hammering at each other.Kid Buu wrote:Oozaru.

It would have been nice to see King Vegeta in the Manga as well, and see him in combat. Since we known nothing about him other then Vegeta was stronger then him as a kid from what I can remember.

The aspect of SSJs. We have some 3 millennium thing goig on, then it's pure heart that get's Goku transforming, then it's Vegeta's determination, THEN it's just because you're his son!!! There is no explanation and when there is, it is very inconsistent. It's a mystery then it's just because x is related to y.

Re: Aspects You Wish Were Expanded Upon
According to last night's new episode of Kai on Nicktoons, Vegeta retorts Freeza's insult about King Vegeta with the fact that Vegeta had surpassed him when he was still a child, so while I don't inherently remember that line from the original, the Kai dub script is accurate, so...I'm going with yes. Though I agree, that's another one of those Saiyajin backstory things that would have been nice to get more info on. He should have been given a role in the Bardock special. He obviously wasn't very strong, so for him to be the ruler of a warrior race...is a bit odd. He must have been one Hell of a strategist and leader.Hellspawn28 wrote:It would have been nice to see King Vegeta in the Manga as well, and see him in combat. On that note, I'd love to know more specifically about what happened between the destruction of the Tsufurujin and the arrival of Freeza. How did the Saiyajin go from those completely primitive caveman types to a civilization with a king and some form of organized military? How long did it take? Did they become civilized before or after Freeza showed up and influenced them?

Re: Aspects You Wish Were Expanded Upon
It's only 1 millennium, actually (not that they really ever stuck to that).Attitudefan wrote:The aspect of SSJs. We have some 3 millennium thing goig on,
The original line is Freeza telling Vegeta that he didn't even need to transform when he fought defeated "the king" (who's never given a name in the manga). It's then Vegeta who retorts that he surpassed his father while still a kid, so Freeza shouldn't feel too high and mighty about having beaten him.Suupaa Gohan 2 wrote:According to last night's new episode of Kai on Nicktoons, Vegeta retorts Freeza's insult about King Vegeta with the fact that Vegeta had surpassed him when he was still a child, so while I don't inherently remember that line from the original, the Kai dub script is accurate, so...I'm going with yes.
Actually the idea is that he was very strong (he's referred to as "the strongest Saiyan at the time" in some of the guidebooks), it's just that Vegeta was all the more talented. He obviously wasn't very strong, so for him to be the ruler of a warrior race...is a bit odd. Well, if you're willing to go by GT, then King Vegeta became king after leading the Saiyans against the Tsufruins. During their war with the Tsufruins they're still shown in their caveman-getups, so I guess they started wearing more civilized clothes later. And they only got the classic battle armor we associate with them after joining up with Freeza, since those were really the uniforms of Freeza's group (Toriyama says something to this effect in his character design for Broli). Also in GT, Baby says that the Saiyans evolved very quickly during the few centuries between when they landed first on Planet Plant to when they started their revolt, gaining more intelligence in the process. I'd assume the closest thing they ever got to an organized military would have also been formed during the war with the Tsufruins. After they joined Freeza we see that they just send out small handfuls of Saiyans to take on whole planets. For the record, the thing about Nappa having been "commander of the Saiyan army" or whatever is simply a dub line.On that note, I'd love to know more specifically about what happened between the destruction of the Tsufurujin and the arrival of Freeza. How did the Saiyajin go from those completely primitive caveman types to a civilization with a king and some form of organized military? How long did it take?
