Where did Mr.Popo come from?

To go along with the Kami topic, was Mr.Popo's origin ever brought up? In the Garlic Jr arc it was clear he knew Kami's predecessor. So how long has he been on earth?

As far as I remember, Mr. Popo's origins were never really discussed. I just always assumed that he's been around since Earth had it's first Guardian.

I mean, someone's gotta water the plants on the Lookout while the Kamis do their Godlike work.

Such as standing on the side of the Lookout, starring at the Earth, and... uh... yeah...

That's what I always thought as well, since he knew all of the previous Guardians (which keep in mind weren't all Namekians with Dragon Balls like a lot people seem to think)

Well before the Namek saga, none of the characters knew the origin of the Dragonballs. Even Roshi only knew legends.

I think he was created by the 1st guardian
becuz he does not look like any one else.

What am I saying anyway? It's not like anyone knows the age of DB's earth...
