How do Freeza and his men age?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Ya, Kattats was Piccolo's 'father'. I remember that mentioned at some point... But Kattats and Guru related... That I don't remember. I suppose it's possible, but I don't know. Of course, from what I remember, Piccolo was sent away because of the storm and no one followed because it ended... which isn't the case since everyone but Guru was dead, that's why no one followed... So I suppose anything is possible.

I do recall even the old edited Dub that Guru mentioned Kattat as the father of Piccolo. Guru and Kattat were brothers in the same sense that Dende and Nail were. Both offspring of the previous eldest namek or a previous namek elder I would assume. It is also correct what was mentioned that the great storm that came to Namek was why Piccolo was sent away. No one followed because every last namek died and Guru was the sole survivor of the race aside from Piccolo. Guru took it upon himself to repopulate Namek with his children and ensure the continuance of the original Dragonballs.

The way it goes with the Dragonballs after the storm and subsequent famine is that the power to control the balls is handed from eldest namek to successor namek. This being that all the current nameks are children of Guru, they are all capable of the power being passed to them or being permitted to create Dragonballs if they are powerful enough.

I seem to recall Guru mentioning that the planet was once covered with vegetation and life and that back then only namekians born of the "dragon family" could produce Dragonballs. Apparantly he and Kattat were of that family.

Those plants that they eat and rely on are called Aggesai (Spelling?) They are the ones the namekians were cultivating to restore the planet to its former glory.

They don't eat them, the're just near extinct and were once the most dominant plantlife of the planet. Nameks only drink water for sustenance. Kattats and Guru are indeed both members of the Dragon Family, but whether this means they're from the same tribe is unknown.

Shouldn't the Piccolo we seen throughout DBZ really be the son of Piccolo Daimaoh who seperated from Kami, the original being who is the son of Kattat?

The Namekian who was the son of Katattsu was never named (specifically). Neither Kami nor Daimaō were that original Namekian, only when Piccolo and Kami re-merge is that original Namekian brought back.

edit - Okay, fine - I can take a hint

There is a lizard that lives in Death Valley that can live on water for long periods of time and can go three years without eating. I've always equated Namekian reproduction to that of earthworms (asexually) and thier eating habits to that lizard I read about. In the anime we do see Junior eat a fish when he is still small and developing. We also see him training with Goku and Gohan for the androids later in the series. Chi-chi complains about Piccolo staying for dinner AGAIN. Piccolo comments to himself that they are having fish again.

I think it is safe to assume that Namekians might fish those waters on namek and enjoy a meal of fish from time to time, even if they can get by on water alone for protracted periods.

But those are Fillers...Toei very well may have simply forgot about the Fact that Namekians don't eat so they could use it to cram a few more seconds into the episode.

I double checked my last post.. Yeah I did preface my statements with "In the anime..." So I was not misleading anyone. It does appear that way in the Anime version.

They eat something, I doubt Piccolo can sustain such an active lifestyle without EVER eating.

But hey, it is a fantasy world right? Plus all anime story expansions are null and void therefore anything anybody says goes, right? Come on, even when discussing a fictional story you have to have some sense and logic to things or it truly is pointless to discuss it.

I've always been under the impression that Namekians are tree-like. They require only water, they reproduce by themselves, they live for hundreds of years, they can regrow limbs, even their appearence is plant-like (green and tall).
