Yes, I am aware, however, compared to the overall amount of time they spent in there...ah, y'know what I mean. We have a mutual understanding.
Clearly, there was something different from Gohan present in the conception and upbringing of the boys. Keep in mind that Vegeta didn't start training Trunks seriously until a few weeks before Gohan visited the City of the West to ask Bulma for a costume (which would become the Great Saiyaman). So, we cannot attribute his case to Vegeta's training, because he became Super Saiyan before that.
And in Gotens case, he says he doesn't even remember when it happened, which is also assumed for Trunks since he's never asked.
Now, there is a Filler that has Goten turning Super Saiyan while sparring with his mother, but that can't be taken to heart, because it would mean that he could remember, thus contradicting the Manga.
Alas, the kids strength can only attributed to one of two things-
-Playing "showdown" with eachother in the woods since they were young.
-Natural talent due to having been concieved by Super Saiyans.
I know the "inherited traits" theory was proven wrong, but this IS a fantasy story, in which it may very well be truth, and that is probably the case.
Goten and Trunks as Super Saiyans weren't weak either...Goten made Gohan have to TRY while dodging, and a half-assed blast from Trunks scared the be-jebus out of Eighteen. The look on her face was that of horror, after she BARELY dodged.
So, they were in league with the likes of Super Vegeta, or probably even greater.
