I can't beleive that anyone would oppose a create a character mode. What would this do? It would mean that a new story mode would have to be written so that any character (even a CAC) could play it. Or how about a story where it has to be your created character?
Sure, it might suck to put new things into the game, but not having them doesn't mean it's definitly going to be good. Remember Ultimate Battle 22?

Your looking past the biggest point of them all. It's not supposed to be just another Generic fighting game like Tekken, it's supposed to be based on one of the greatest stories of all time.
And when they can freakin' perfect that part, maybe I'll open my mind to CaC, but that nonetheless would end up being so newb abused it wouldn't even be funny. I mean, who wouldn't make a gosh-forsaken SS4 Bubajin?

Uh, the people on this board? Or am I giving you too much credit, considering you think everyone would make one? And besides that, who the hell cares what random-fanboy-number-552,354,878,036,573,152 creates? Are you going to ever see it? No. Not unless an on-line mode is included where you can fight your original characters (which would kick even more ass) and you CHOSE to fight that character. In such a case it's your own fault.Duo wrote:Your looking past the biggest point of them all. <Kaboom> I'm just glad that he now sounds more like Invader Zim than Rita Repulsa
<Xyex> Original Freeza never sounded like a chick to me.
<Kaboom> Neither does Rita
<Xyex> Good point.

As usual, we aren't going to conclude this...at all. Back to topic...
I think they rushed on many of the GT and movie based portions. It was almost pathetic how little justice they did to them, even if they were non-canon and subpar before, this made them even worse. Even I would have enjoyed trying to survive against Janemba in an actual Hell Stage with SS2 Halo Vegeta.
And have Base GT Kid Goku + all his forms might've been pretty sweet.

I concur: a create-a-character mode wouldn't really benefit the series. I'd rather have a game with more fully developed characters and game modes than a mode by which I can some create generic looking Saiyans or Namekians. Chances are, most people will be pick the same armor, attacks, facial features, etc, since they're so limited in DBZ, anyway. I think the next step is to wait for a next generation platform. I think they should use the fighting system from this game, but make an action RPG out of it. They could make games saga by saga, and include the entire planet in a (dare I say it...?!) GTA style world. The controls from this game would be PERFECT for a free roaming game. Also, two on one or two on two battles would help this better match the series. And of course, a multiplayer versus or co-op mode should be included, too. Create-a-character mode? Blah. I want to play Dragonball Z characters, not Super Saiyan Oponok/ Celery/ my mother/ Christopher Walken/ etc.
In my opinion, Sparking has a notable decrease in attention to detail. Majin Vegeta, despite his picture on the title screen, doesn't have his cool "atomic blast" that was included in Budoukai 3. Overall, the attacks are really generic, which is quite bad for a DBZ game (though this could be expected with GT characters...). Some of the character models look uglier than previous games, and many of the characters' teeth look awfully screwed up. I think Budoukai 3 had much better overall presentation, but could be because it was the third game in a series by the same developer.
Howver, I must admit the absolute best feature of Sparking! is Goku's ability to use Instant Transmission at will. I freaking love that.
I would like to see in game transformations back. It adds a little bit more variety to the fighting. The transformation could just be done by using one of the favorite moves, and characters without a transformation would therefore get a second favorite move in return. Fair? Fair.
Yes.
