About GT

Post by tenkaichigoten » Sun Nov 27, 2005 7:21 pm

I have a question regarding the characters in GT.How come they were made so weak? I didn't understand it at all. Also why they made Pan go instead of Goten? Goten could have officially gone SSJ2 although he did go SSJ2 in GT.I also didn't get and never will why Pan was never given the Super Saiyan ability. There were some moments in GT she could have gone Super Saiyan.

What the fuck are you asking here? All I see is a bunch of clutter and shit. Questions end in question marks, spaces come after sentances, frankly, your grammar is really, really bad. You might want to re-read the rules before you get banned.

Oh calm down.

1) They were made weaker because the characters had surpassed the whole strongests in the universe stage in the Buu saga of DBZ. Now add fifteen years of training for some of them.

2) Pan went because there would have been no female character in the Blackstar DB saga, when there's always been at least one strong female role in each DB saga. Also, Pan was just introduced in the last chapter or two of the manga, so it was a means to expand her character.

3) Goten reaching SSJ2 would have served no purpose. Plus he stopped training between the Buu and 28th budoukai saga.

4) I agree that Pan should have gone SSJ. The crying crap on M2 should have been her shining moment.

5) Do remember to put spaces at the end of your sentences, and make sure you're writing in a clear fashion. Not doing so confuses and pisses ppl off (see above), and isn't tolerated by the admin. Like EX always mentions, you agreed to certain rules when you signed up, one of which is to use basic grammar.

You might wanna can that shit before people ride you out of here on a rail, dig? There's a difference between reminding people of the rules and being an outright dick.

As for the question of the topic, it was all done essentially to make the series more Goku-centric. I take it as a minus, some would take it as a plus. It's basically a 64 episode filler-a-thon.

What? You appologized? What a let-down, I was expecting you to explode with expletives - but you appologized?

That was like turning on Springer and seeing everybody maturly discussing their differences.

But then again, I hate Springer :P

Anyway... the characters get weaker all the time: remember Piccolo levitating a pyramid in training for the Saiyans? How the hell strong must he be? It's usually done to show how strong Goku is, like so: Goku's friends train real hard > they get super strong (cue cool techniques) > but the bad guy beats them anyway > then Goku beats him > Goku must be stronger than his friends (even though he never lifted a mountain with his mind).

Yeah, but Piccolo can make things appear out of nowhere too. Piccolo moving a mountain with his mind means nothing, as I find it hard that he would be able to actually "lock on" to an enemy and do that, as they've usually always been faster than him. Piccolo=Smart Guy, hence Buu absorbed him before someone or other at some point, I can't remember who or when. Though, I'm guessing you were just making a point and already relized all this.

Not that I completely dislike Dragonball GT, it just didn't feel like it was going anywhere. What I mean by that is, we know Goku and friends were strong enough to stop any threat coming to earth. What I myself really wanted from GT was more of the adjusting to "normal" life for the Z gang.

I understand the concept of, there's always someone stronger, but there's also a boiling point to that. and I believe that Buu reached it. Like what was discussed on Podcast #0002 with Meri, Goku and Piccolo taking the Drivers' test, was such a great change from fighting and such.

That's the kind of episodes GT, I wish, would have included. Now, I'm not saying there should be no fighting at all, I just wish would could have seen how things shaped up after Buu was rid of.

The characters themselves......really needed to be "over-hauled" better. Goku, I really wished would have stayed older, wishing him back to a child just sort of instantly bored me a little with GT. Pan.....what can I say...Pan...well, annoys me so much, she fills me with rage! It might have been her English voice, or it might be just how useless she was sometimes. Last one I'll mention is Trunks. Why couldn't "they" just have left him alone from the way he was at the end of Z? Who knows, it really looked he age regressed about 7 years. Seemed way to childish to what he was at the last episode of DBZ. I know he's not going to be nearly as grown-up as Future Trunks, but still, not like he was in GT.

Overall, GT was 50-50 with me. Sometimes I'd enjoy it, other times I wanted to throw something at my television. Anways! End Rant for now :)

I never payed too much attention to GT. However, when I did watch it was always a mix between"THat's kind of cool" and "That makes no sense". Some of the fighting was cool. Some of the "searching for Dragonballs" stuff was cool. However, stuff like Goku being blind and that somehow affecting him even though he can sense Qi so well that we really wouldn't need eyes to fight anyway... that was the kinds of things that made me go "I wish FUNi would redub seasons 1 and 2 of DBZ and show them on TV uncut."

Boy was I happy over this sumer.
