I'm getting it for Christmas and one thing I've always wanted was to play a DBZ game on a TV-based console with the Faulconer dub music. I have all of the CDs and ripped unreleased tracks fans have acquired, so my questions are as follows:

(1) How do you go about putting the music on a PS3? Must you use CDs or can you put all of it on a flash drive and plug that in?
(2) Once the music is there, how do you import it into the game?
(3) To what extent can you customize the tracks? So for instance, assuming there's a fight between Vegeta and Freeza, can I use the Faulconer track "Vegeta Fights Freeza" over that? Likewise, can I use other Faulconer tracks over cutscenes?
(4) How are custom songs looped? Would I have to edit tracks so they loop properly? And if so, what file format works (I'm guessing .mp3)?

Except for adding music to Rollercoaster Tycoon back in the day, I've never had any real desire to experiment with custom soundtracks, but this has me intrigued. Any help is appreciated :)
1. You can use flash drives to update your console, I'm not sure about music, though.

Most games don't support "custom soundtracks" anymore in the way you're thinking. All it really does is drop out the audio from the game, and simply play audio from your console's hard drive in the background. It's not synched up to anything in particular, so it's not like you can choose a particular song for a particular type of game event (for example, the song will stop playing when a fight comes to a close, play the winning music, and then start up another track when you get to the next fight -- none of this happens). It's basically just you playing a CD in the background, except the console's taking care of it.

The systems will rip CDs for you if you put them into the console. Otherwise, you can import MP3 & AAC files from a USB device or a network connection.

That kind of defeats the purpose then. I might as well have a DBZ playlist playing from my ipod via speakers adjacent to my tv and just turn the BGM off in the game. Thanks for the help, guys!

In the WWE games, you can use your own songs for your superstar's entrance music, and that song would start, stop, and behave as if it was in the game itself.

Maybe this hardcore thing they're talking about making is a 16-bit game. Super Butouden 4 would be pretty cool, right? Or maybe we could be getting English releases of old Super Famicom games?

Wait, so a new game is being developed by a mystery company?
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

No, Tony Shoupinou from Namco Bandai says we will be seeing a supposedly "hardcore" game in 2012.

Maybe it'll be Zenkai Battle Royal on PS3, XBOX360, and WiiU.

Ehhh... that's a bit of a stretch if you ask me. Game companies usually don't make 2D games anymore unless its for the PSN or Xbox Arcade. It's most likely just another simple 3D fighter. :?

There's no way they'd be remaking games like those, they're too dated if you ask me to be sold on a large scale. I also highly doubt Zenkai would be getting a port, Spike doesn't develop it I believe. I think they'll start from scratch and try something new. (Lets forget Ultimate Tenkaichi ever happened...)

Well, there are games like Guilty Gear and Blazblue and they are in 2D and are much popular.¨
But I don't think it will work in Dragon Ball nowadays- From marketing perspective definitely not as lot of people have somewhat twisted taste and 3D is simply awesome, 2D is past.
Lot of people will probably say, why do I need to buy this, when I can play Super Butoden :D
FighterZ, Street Fighter 6, Mortal Kombat: Funky_Strudel

KOF XIII, Guilty Gear, and BlazeBlue all say hello. Also, 2D games with 3D graphics.

And the Melty Blood AA CC Demo (PC) just got released today...
Well, is this game worth to be discussed??
Played it, it was so bad, that I have to laugh about the game. Other than that, boring game.

DB Xenoverse is not a DBZ simulator with fighting elements, it's a semi competent fighting/action game with DBZ simulation elements.

Melty Blood f**ked me away with the art in instant.....
Damn, so ugly and cliché. Some games are boring but have awesome design, that keeps you interested for a while.
Melty Blood is not the case.

That's what I mean't by "usually" (as in, for the most part). 2D retail games aren't very common compared to the average and much more common 3D games.

By "2D", I was referring to the old-fashioned flat SNES/Genesis type of graphics. (You get what I mean, right?)

Can you watch the cutscenes in Japanese with English subtitles in the PAL version?
