New DBZ T-Shirt on ShirtPunch!

I know penguintruth is gonna love this one... :P

ShirtPunch is just like TeeFury, one design every 24 hours. I would have posted this earlier had I known about it sooner, but better late than ever! I probably would have preferred a different quote as well, but the art is so on point... I'm probably going to end up getting it. What do you guys think?

Very humorous of them to use that dub line. Did they do it as an inside joke to fans or just because they actually thought it was cool...

I'm leaning more toward to the latter but hey, maybe ShirtPunch has a better sense of humor than I give them credit for. :P

That's so unintentionally satirical in its OOC-ness. Goku's pose only adds to that.
The art looks neat though. :3

The background design is pretty damn awesome. Aside from the cheesy dub line and Goku's cartoony look, it's a pretty cool shirt.

The design is suspiciously reminiscent of Megan Lara's Art Nouveau stuff (especially the Firefly designs that got a lot of press six months ago). But not as well done. :? (poor whitespace balancing, dismal colour choice)

Aside from the poorly imitated composition, the actual art for Goku is mediocre. There's no excuse for the character design to be so off, there are lots of pictures of Goku - study them. Hell, trace it, at least it'll be on-model.

And the quote speaks for itself.

All in all, I think it's a great analogy of the Funimation dub: a half-assed re-imagining and attempt to shoehorn Dragon Ball into a genre it doesn't fit, while trying to copy other more talented creations. Plus out of character dialogue. I give it a 2/10 - would not recommend.

As much as I think it's a pretty cool design, mostly the background...I wouldn't be caught dead wearing that  Too cheesy

I just don't think I'd feel right wearing this. I don't particularly see myself as the hope of the universe.

What's so off-model about it? The only thing that strikes me as odd are his strange, rounded boots.

The face is pretty off-model IMO.

To be fair, it's in this person's style; it's not meant to be completely on-model. It's sort of like, how they had other artists draw Dragon Ball stuff for the Kanzenbans... why would you want them just to copy Toriyama? I'd rather see Oda draw Dragonball in Odastyle.

There are a lot of aspects that are close, but incorrect - the folding (or lack thereof) of the clothes especially the pants, the belt is too long, the hair has a couple of issues (Goku's crown is too large and the back spike sizing looks bad, plus the lack of motion in the hair makes the composition static and dull), and the boots are just terrible. The pose is based on official art (closest to this, but this is more popular) but it's not quite as good, and frankly the original pose isn't great either.

There's a big difference between doing something in your own style and doing someone else's style badly. This shirt is the later; there's no question.

The dub line is pretty funny but I think the whole design screams awkward.

I would've wore this shirt despite all the bashing it seems to be getting. Not because it's one of my all time favorite dub lines but because I have no shame. It's to bad I missed the opportunity to buy this.

Out-of-character dub line or no, it's still an impactful line that I have fond memories of from my childhood...so I'd wear the hell out of this shirt if I could have gotten it. I'd have had to buy two cuz the first one would eventually wear out.

I think Batman would have been a better character to be on the T-shirt

Great. Because that wonderful line needs celebrating on a t-shirt.

Though it would be funny to wear it to a convention and introduce myself to Sean Schemmel, wearing it.

You only have 24 hours to buy a shirt and once it's gone, it's gone.
